"Hey Jackers, now I know you were probably sleeping and I know it is 8:30 but I will be there in 20 minutes ok? Bye." Ali hung up the phone before he could protest. She had been up since 7 am which is so not like her but she wanted to spend the whole day with Jack. As she was about to get into her car she realized she didn't know where she was going. She quickly called back Jack and got directions.

As she pulled up to the building in front of her she stared with disbelief. "This has got to be wrong." But fearing the worst she parked the car and ran inside the building. An hour ago she was thinking of how she was going to talk to Jack about the prom that was coming up in 3 weeks and how wonderful that night was going to be, now all she could think is that he was in trouble.

She had gone straight to the receptionists desk and ran all the way to his room. . .

"Jack!?!" Ali yelled into the room.

"Ya come on in." Jack propped himself up into a more casual position and awaited to see the most important person in his life.

"Oh my god Jackers, what's the matter I mean what's wrong with you? Why the hell didn't you tell me where you were! You can't do this to me! So say something!"

"I would if I could, but I can't get a word in edge wise with you yelling like that."

"I'm sorry I just don't understand. What's wrong?"

"Come here and sit down," Ali sat in his outstretched arms and listened. "Look, I went to Dr. Jones 3 days ago and he said I had a well I had a tumor." Ali sobbed which cut into Jacks heart like a knife. "I didn't know how that could be I mean a tumor doesn't happen over night, but the pains I was having were always said to be stress induced.

"Why," Ali said between sobs. "Can't they fix you or take it out?" By now Ali was pacing the floor with one hand on her chest and the other wiping away the flowing tears so she could see Jack.

"They can't do anything for me now it's just too big and attached to my heart." Jack knew her next questions before she could get it out. "I have another week and a half or so. All they can do is make me comfortable."

Ali collapsed to the floor. Jack frantically pushed the call button and waited till Jeff came in. "Jeff wake her up she fainted!"

"Ok hang on." Jeff got a kit that was under the bed and took out smelling salts and awoke Ali. "You ok?"

"Ya I'm fine. You can put me down now thanks!" Ali was obviously upset and Jeff could tell so he didn't question. "I'm sorry. Thank you very much." Jeff left.

"Jackers ::she sobbed:: I'll be with you every minute."

"Don't be sad now please. I need this to be normal like..."

"No! This cannot be normal Jack you're gonna be gone I'll never see you again!" Ali was now in hysterics, but she kept going. "You are all I have in my life Jack, and I cannot imagine my life without my best friend. I'll never ever . . ."

"Stop, never say never. Come here. You know that I feel the same way about you. But I need you to be strong right now. I need you to be my friend today and tomorrow until the day comes that we must say goodbye for now. Please is that ok?"

"Yes, I can try I can try real hard. Are you hungry? I can go get something is there anything you want?"

"Well breakfast would be great."

"Ok, what do you want?"

"I'll have scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, and a huge glass of orange juice."

"Ok, that's a mighty big order there heehee. Would you like anything umm what is your roommates name."

"It's Josh."

"Ok Josh, is there anything I can get for you?"

"That is very nice of you, but my friend is bringing me some stuff. Thank you very much though for the nice offer."

"Oh, it's no problem. Ok Jackers I'll be right back." Ali left to go to the nearby dinner and pick up his order. Jc rolled over to talk to him.

"She is a very nice girl, I feel bad I wouldn't show my face I had my head turned."

"That's ok I think she is still in shock I mean she probably didn't notice."

Jc and Jack continued to talk about everything. Jack told him all the memories he could think of and all the things they wouldn't get to do.

"You can't think of it like that because if you do then you won't enjoy this time now." ~*~*~ With Ali ~*~*~

I can't believe this and I can't believe I'm going to loose him. This just is not fair! I have already lost my parents and he has lost his father. Too much death! Life is supposed to be full of happiness and wonderful memories. And now my life is going to be full of grief and mourning. I just can't be feeling these things now. I have to be there for Jack for now and forever.

Ali choked but a sob as she paid for the food. She had gotten a bagel for herself and one for Josh on the chance his friend hadn't come.

"Knock knock!"

"You dork come on in!" shouted Jc not knowing it was Ali on the other side.

"Hey is that anyway to treat the women who comes bearing food! I got you a bagel Josh for later or whenever, but I hope you don't mind it's plain because I didn't know what you wanted."

"That was really thoughtful of you. And yes my bonehead of a friend hasn't come yet."

"Well here you go." For the first time Ali caught a glimpse of 1/5 of the group she was in total love with. "Ok can you excuse me for a second ya thanks!" "JACK! How could you not tell me that was Jc from *NSYNC!"

"I'm sorry but Jc decided you should see for yourself."

Before anything more could be said there was a knock at the door and a tall handsome young man walked in.
