The Bruce Trail, Canada's oldest and longest footpath,
provides the only public access to the magnificent Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO
World Biosphere Reserve. It is one of only twelve such reserves in all of
Canada. Bruce Trail volunteers
build and maintain the 885 kilometres of the main Trail and over 450 kilometres
of its associated side trails.
The Bruce Trail Conservancy is a charitable
organization committed to establishing a conservation corridor containing a
public footpath along the Niagara Escarpment, in order to protect its natural
ecosystems and to promote environmentally responsible public access to this
UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.
