Real First Baby Entry...
Mood:  chillin'
Topic: Prenatal Visits
As I told some of you, I went to the Doctor's office a bit back. I was scared (and worried) about the test I had to have. For those that wonder what I am talking about, I had to have an amiosentisis test {to determine if there are any problems in the fluid that the baby is in). Funny thing, they see some sort of thing {which I can't really give a name to; it is one of those Doctor Words} that is an indication as to when I might start having the baby.

Last week of Dec., first week of Jan., still up in the air.

I am sitting here typing this and watching a football game. San Diego Chargers vs. Denver Broncos.

I feel kind of anxious as to when this whole baby thing will be over. I love it when I feel the movement; then when I lay down, pillow under my side, I can't get to sleep right off. It takes me about an hour to finally fall asleep.

I guess I can admit something that will make a lot of you laugh. For the mother's out there that know afout the weight gain, here is another story about it.

Since the beginning of this whole pregnancy, I have gained 45 pounds. No lie. I am at the point of thinking of myself as a blimp. Maybe even a major piggie. The grandparents-first-time-to-be are the best. They fix real good meals that are healthy; and I always get extra stuff. Heck, this baby will be born thinking healthy food and might even be born with a chef's hat, apron, and spatula in hand.

Comments, anyone?

Christmas Trees co-opted from Pagan Festival
Mood:  happy
Topic: Non-Baby Related
This follwing editorial comes from my hometown newspaper. It is not baby related; but once I finish writing it down, I am going to put in some things about my pregnancy that came up. Nothing to worry about everyone, just some information that I wanted to pass along in here (one time, instead of multiple times). Now, enjoy this editorial...

*************

"Regarding "Christmas Trees are not just that (Letters, 11/25):

It doesn't seem to be a well-known fact that Christmas was actually a Pagan holiday long before the Christ walked the Earth. The ancient pagans celebrated the Winter Solstice as a time when the sun would be returning to the world after a long winter. Celtic Druids decorated evergreen trees with images of what they hoped the folliwing year would have in store for them (for example, nuts for fertility, fruits for a plentiful harvest).

The Christian celebration of Christmas is in December not because the Bible says that is when Christ was born, but because involving many symbols of their yule holiday in Christmas made converting Pagans to Christianity easier. The Christmas tree is the most obvious symbol, and it is also the most obviously nin-Christian symbol of what we now call Christmas.

Hope that this is a good read for anyone...I kinda wonder if the letter writer is Pagan?

My First Words In This Journal/Diary
Mood:  chillin'
Now Playing: My wordings
Topic: Memories
This blog is designed as a tool for me to talk to all of my friends in one place without having to PM/IM every single person with the same thing. I am going to open this up to whoever wants to post anything relating to motherhood/babyhood.

I do have one rule that I must stress. I do not want to see URL's of any type that are sexual, spamming, or anything that is not related to baby stuff. If that is seen in here, I will immediately delete it. I am making this blog public for all ages to view.

Please respect my wish to keep it clean.
