Second Skin Damplifier is a 1.15mm (45mil) pressure sensitive mass loading damper consisting of a rubberized asphalt membrane with an aluminum heat shield. Once the layer of Kraft paper is removed the adhesive surface is exposed which forms a secure bond to the mounting surface of your car, yielding optimal deadening performance. In other words, it’s a layer of thick aluminum foil covered in sticky goo that attaches itself to the panels in your car that vibrate. The goo absorbs the vibrations creating a quieter, more comfortable ride.
We recommend installation of Second Skin Damplifier on any high vibration areas of your car, including: Inner door skins, ceiling, cabin side fire-wall, front dash, rear dash trunk floor, & trunk lid. Second Skin Damplifier is not designed for use under the hood of your car or in any part of the engine compartment.
