A Granddaughters Love
I'll Alway's Remember...
I'll always remember the way you used to hold me tight and sing to me when I had a bad dream and tell me fairy tales.
I'll always remember the way you used to look at me and smile when I would stand by your side
and sing in church, and the way you would laugh when I told Pappy that he was singing off key
I'll always remember the way you would yell at Uncle George when he would pick on me, or practice some wrestling moves on me.
I'll always remember the way you used to make me jell-o when I wasn't feeling good.
I'll always remember the way you used to call and check up on me when I was sick.
I'll remember the songs we used to sing together.....
The other night dear
As I lay sleeping
I dreamed I held you in my arms
When I awoke, dear
I was mistaken
So I hung my head and I cried.
You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You'll never know dear
How much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The world shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun refuse to shine;
But God, who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.
When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun.
I'll always remember the day that you left this world to be with Him who took all your pains away.
I'll always remember the way I cry when I think of you.......
I'll always remember you Grammy......I love you.....and I miss you so much.
This poem is dedicated to Amy Dorothy, my loving Grandmother, she was like my mother.
