Tim's Three Comma Rules

 
  
                                
1.  If the first part of a sentence "sets the stage," then use a comma.
     example:  It was a dark and stormy night,... 
     (this introductory phrase changes the meaning of the rest of the sentence.) 

2.  A complete and uninterrupted thought needs no comma.

3.  Put commas
, consistently, on both sides of interrupting ideas.
