The president, in October 2006, succeeded where no one has before.
He managed to kill the writ of habeas corpus.
This, in turn, kills nothing less than your Bill of Rights.
The effective suspension of the US constitution is a matter of concern.
Habeas Corpus: Why You'll Miss it

see Hall of Shame below   Torture is now Legal

Habeas Corpus is missing.  Last October, Congress allowed the president to sign away a fundamental constitutional right.
It's time to take it back.  Join us on June 26, 2007  www.juneaction.org

 Franklin Delano Roosevelt, noted...

"The only sure bulwark of continuing liberty is a government strong enough to protect the interests of the people, and a people strong enough and well enough informed to maintain its sovereign control over the government."

Has Hillary Rodham Clinton been watching too many episodes of “24,”
or is she just determined to prove that she really is entirely without principles?
Whichever it is, Clinton hit a new low last week, telling the New York Daily
News that the president should have “some lawful authority” to use torture..

http://www.cantonrep.com/index.php?ID=314594

At least Hillary did vote against torture, but there were
several who saw no problem with voting against the constitution, and in favor of torture.

Here is the list of those who betrayed this nation and our values in voting for this unconstitutional bill:

Measure Title: A bill to authorize trial by military commission for violations of the law of war, and for other purposes.

Can't beat em', join em.'  The inevitable result of "situational" ethics.

Military Commissions Bill (S. 3930)’ it states categorically, “Re-establishes President Bush’s military tribunals, which were rejected by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional." I want candidate Zanzi to focus in on the word ‘unconstitutional’. How can any elected official including Bush place their hand on the Bible and take an oath to uphold the United States Constitution, and then support a bill that the U.S. Supreme Court rejected?

Torture is now Legal

Edmund Burke, a conservative philosopher, wrote, "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." It looks as if he was right
