Congress Approval Rating Matches Historical Low  Only 18% of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing, matching the low point in 30+ years of Gallup tracking congressional approval.
Congress must stand up for peace, justice, freedom, the rule of law, and working Americans!
Perhaps then, they might deserve "approval."  America wants accountability.   Tim Flanagan, editor

Republicans are deeply distrustful of the national news media -- in sharp contrast to Democrats, who have a great deal more trust in the media's accuracy. Overall, less than half of Americans, regardless of partisanship, have a great deal or a fair amount of trust in the mass media. Over three-quarters of Republicans, and nearly half of all Americans, perceive the media as too liberal. Fewer than one in five say the media are too conservative.

The latest USA Today/Gallup poll finds Americans saying they would be more likely to vote for a presidential candidate who insists on ... removing U.S. troops from Iraq.  ... More than 7 in 10 Americans say a candidate's position on the Iraq war will be ...important to their vote next year. http://www.gallup.com/nl/?27829,AlertPE,6/8/2007,

A new USA Today/Gallup poll finds Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama essentially tied as Democrats' choice to win the party's 2008 presidential nomination. http://www.gallup.com/nl/?27763,AlertPE,6/5/2007,

Gallup's monthly measure of the priorities Americans want the federal government to focus on "right now" shows public concern for immigration and fuel prices up sharply since April. However, neither issue has distracted Americans from the situation in Iraq, which remains by far the top-rated priority. Other issues in the top five include healthcare and the economy.
The Gallup Organization
A new Gallup panel survey finds a majority of Americans predicting that gas prices will reach $4.00 per gallon this summer in their local area. Roughly two in three Americans say they have already been affected financially in some meaningful way by the high gas prices. Poll respondents most commonly cite oil company greed as the reason why gas prices are so high.  http://www.gallup.com/nl/?27709,AlertPE,5/30/2007,

National Satisfaction Level Dips to 25%, One of Lowest Since 1979   Gallup Poll finds just 25% of Americans satisfied with the way things are going in the United States, one of the 20 lowest readings Gallup has obtained on this measure first asked in 1979. The Iraq war is again mentioned as the nation's top problem, as it has been each month for over three years now.
GALLUP POLL NEWS SERVICE >> RELIGION AND SOCIAL TRENDS
One Third of Americans Believe the Bible is Literally True, in spite of irrefutable evidence to the contrary. They accept that what various people contributed to the bible represents the actual word of God and
is to be taken literally word for word. This percentage is slightly lower than several decades ago. Belief in a "literal Bible" is strongly correlated with church attendance and identification with a Protestant or other non-Catholic Christian faith. There is a strong inverse relationship between education and belief in a literal Bible.
