all the effects created by writers, none is more
important or elusive than that quality called
"voice." Good writers, it is said time
and again, want to "find" their voice.
And they want that voice to be
"authentic," a word from the same root
as "author" and "authority."
But what is voice, and how does the writer tune

What
is "active
voice"? The
active voice means the person who performs the
action is the subject
of
the verb. The active voice is used to
indicate that the grammatical subject of the
verb is performing the action or causing the
happening denoted by the verb.
Use active voice in most sentences
What is "passive
voice"? The
passive voice means the verb forms which are
used when the su bject
refers to someone or something who does not
perform the action but is affected by the action
of the verb. The passive voice is used to
indicate that the grammatical subject of the
verb is the recipient (not the doer) of the
action denoted by the verb.
