Critical Topics for Study: Polishing your Essay

Critical Topics in Writing:

Sometimes writing is more than style, guidelines, references, and rules.  The transitions between paragraphs can be difficult to learn, but are essential for good writing.  In order to write effective transitions, combine the main idea of one paragraph with the main idea of the next paragraph in one sentence.  This sentence will either end the first paragraph or begin the second.  These effective transitions can tie together your subtopics and help you to effectively establish and support your main idea, the thesis.  Even after you have polished your conclusion, you still must attend to rewriting, editing, and a final  proof before your work is done.  Enjoy!
