NEW!Westlife
are setting a phenomenal pace in their bid for another UK Number One
album, after selling around 50,000 copies of 'World Of Our Own' in
just one day, dotmusic can reveal.
The Irish boyband are believed to be around 30,000 sales ahead of
Madonna, whose 'GHV2' is expected to go in at Number Two this
weekend.
Elsewhere in the midweek album chart, Gabrielle's 'Dreams Come True'
is set for a Top Five hit, while Britney Spears and Michael
Jackson's new long-players drop out of the Top Ten.
The Radiohead live album 'I Might Be Wrong' is unlikely to make the
Top Ten, while there will be considerably greater disappointments
for a number of other acts: Paul McCartney's 'Driving Rain' is
languishing at the bottom end of the Top 40, alongside The Cure's
'Greatest Hits'.
However, 'rock and roll saviour' Andrew WK looks to have
categorically failed to inspire ignite the UK, with his debut album
currently stiffing in the sixties. In the singles chart, Blue are
expected to displace Westlife at the top of the charts, with 'If You
Come Back' becoming their second Number
One.
