NEW ZEALAND

18/02/01
G'day from New Zealand! Haven't had time to go online before as we've had 3 packed weeks of adventure here in N.Z. A special thanks to Bill and Kirsten for the awesome time in Queenstown! Thanks heaps for the champagne - it did the "Copeland Track" all 34 km of it...
Hitching through this beautiful country has been as easy as pie, thank you to all those wicked people who picked us up along the way.
Brief summary: flew into Wellington, took the ferry to the south island, made our way to Kaikoura (where we swam in the sea with the "dusky dolphins") incredible experience!! Next we stopped off in Littleton (just outside of Christchurch) we highly recommend "Tunnelvision backpackers" and the "Wunderbar" (a pub owned by a guy from Berlin - we had an excellent time partying with all the crazy locals). In Queenstown Bill and Kirsten spoiled us with an amazing view of the lake from our room, four wheel drive adventures, boat rides, catching trout, barbeques, mountain biking (next time I think I'll try a 3) and tramping. See U 2 in Vancouver. Up the west coast turned out to be a bit slower going but amazingly beautiful-New Zealands hidden treasure - snow capped mountains, rainforest, lakes, rivers, glaciers, it has it all. Sadly, we only had time for one trek, but a beautiful choice - looking at the mountains while sitting in the hot springs soaking our weary limbs - ahhhhhh
At the moment we're having a blast in Wellington with Jurrian and Rachael our beautiful Dutch-Kiwi connection - chilling out, going to the beach and rocking Wellington on a Sat night has been filling up our days here with 2 wonderful friends!! THANKS
We're off to the Cook Islands (Rarotonga & Aitutaki) in 2 days for 3 weeks of relaxation to end this amazing adventure. We'll be back in Germany late March hope to catch up with everyone before we're off to Canada for those serious things we finally have to do (like work).
Cheers und Macht's Gut! K&J
