Dear Friends, Fellow Club
Members, and Gentle Readers:
Since the shutdown of the Readers Clubhouse on August 13th, 2002,
I've been busier than a long-tailed cat in a roomful of rocking
chairs.
Everybody suddenly got in on the act! Our publishers, our
investors, and our business and strategic partners -- and everybody
wanted all the documents. This fiasco of hate-based attacks upon our
community and business interests is now assessed as a $10 million
dollar capital crime. I know that sounds like a big number, but
there were many big players invested for the long term.
Happily, both the civil and criminal stuff is now everyone else's
business, fueled by plenty of incentive, which is a huge relief for
us, let me tell you.
Now on to the Important Stuff!
The Club Member Damages Statements are finally ready for you! You
get to take center stage and describe what you felt and experienced
while the community you created was being systematically and
intentionally destroyed.
The reports will establish you as a contributing and vested
member of the Clubhouse community. We have designed them so that
each one is short, focused, and perhaps even entertaining.
Over the next ten days, Bill Stanton (our documents consultant)
and I will introduce six Club Member Damages Worksheets. The first
one is up now! It focuses on your loss of pleasure in your community
experience. Just return to the list of topics, and you'll see a
button in the masthead that says Club
Member Damages Statements.
I have so much more to tell you and there is isn't time here, but
I will now post as much as possible to keep you informed. Just
remember this -- the people who hurt you are very, very frightened
and they will say anything they can to scare you, or intimidate you,
or seduce you. Have fun with their antics. You deserve it.
Here are some FACTS that address the sillier rumors we've
heard:
You are not part of a legal action. No lawsuit has been filed on
your behalf -- or even on my behalf, for that matter.
You will not be "punished" for telling your story in the Damages
Report -- on the contrary, you may be rewarded because I'd like to
make that happen.
You do not have to participate in this at all. It is not vital
to either the criminal or civil actions underway. I just feel it
would benefit you to establish your status in the Clubhouse and make
yourself eligible for any compensation awarded for the destruction
of your contributions to your community, the compromise of your
safety and well-being, the loss of your community and social
environment, and the liberties and rights that have been wrongly
taken from you.
Above all, please stay tuned! Some of what you are going to see
in the next few months, I guarantee you, will rival "Survivor."
There are some big surprises in store.
Dear Friends -- Be good to each other. Don't lose the faith! I
have always looked out for you and I don't intend to stop now!
That's the way it is.
