Subject: Breakers Update
Great game today, we will have to see where we end up in the standings. The rest of our games do not count in the standings. However, they are still going to count in our overall record. Our league record ended up 5 wins, 5 losses and no ties.
Our league officially ends on November 16th. After that John plans on taking a short break, probably through Thanksgiving, and then resuming practices for the State Cup. He will be available full time after the league play. We don't have a firm practice schedule yet and I am trying to coordinate with the CYO coaches to minimize conflicts. Plan on practicing twice a week in December with a few scrimmages thrown in. After the new year we will pick up again with more practices in preparation for the tournament. Fields will be hard to come by and we will have to get creative with gym time, shared fields, rented fields and other options. Try to be flexible as this will be very hard to coordinate.

Important datesEvents
Jan 17-18Preliminary round of the state cup
Jan 242nd round
Jan 31Round of 16 teams
Feb 14Quarter finals
Feb 15Semis
Feb 28Finals

Each round is a qualifying round to advance to the next level. Rain outs are frequent in Jan and have to be rescheduled.
Keep in mind that the tournament dates will conflict with basketball and other events but we need a full commitment from each player to proceed. I will do my best to avoid conflicts with basketball during practices leading up to the Cup, but you need to commit now to the tourney dates.
The application is due to CYSA by November 1st and I am holding it along with the entry fee for $350 until I am sure we have enough of a commitment to apply. Let me know this week if you are still planning to commit to the post season and state cup program that we have outlined. Respond by email no later than Thursday.
Call Dave or I with any questions. You can email John at jbrooks@dominican.edu. I will be available by cell phone since I am traveling most of the week. 377-4192.

ps You may have received a flyer from DU about their double header on Saturday, October 25. The women play at home at 1:00 pm and the men play at 3:00 pm vs CSU Monterey. Come support the teams as they are battling for playoff spots.
