> ABOUT THE BAND

Jacques L'amant has been singing and playing the blues for over two decades now. He has lived and performed in New York, Chicago, and Austin, as well as France. He has shared the stage with some of the top names of the blues, including Hubert Sumlin, Jimmy Dawkins, Sugar Blue and more recently, Paul Orta and Richard Earl. He currently resides in Beaumont, Texas where he teaches music and raises his family. Jack (as he likes to be called) has recently begun recording an album of his own and is gigging around the Texas / Louisiana region with his group L'amant.

Jack's blues favor a swampy / country groove no doubt ingrained in him during his time in Beaumont, and his guitar playing is reminiscent of the great Chicago stylists. He sings his blues in a throaty, raw voice, aching, sweating, and loving every minute of it. For an added twist, he occasionally sings his blues in French.

L'amant has managed to mingle a wide variety of blues styles into their own unique sound.
