MITTWOCH, 23 OKTOBER 2002 hello, everyone! this is my second website ive tried and hopefully this one will be better. the last one was going to make me pay to put pictures on it and it wasnt very good otherwise. angelfire has been very helpful and so far so good. things in germany are all right. i havent learned as much german as i should, but none of the other trainees have either(there a couple exceptions of course). as most of you know, i shaved my head a couple weeks after i got here. i have been wanting to do that for a long time and i guess i was waiting til i was away where my dad couldnt give me his disappointed looks(hi, dad!)....its a great feeling, having a shaved head. no worries in the morning of how messy it is. just remember, i didnt do it for the looks. right now im growing it out again for the winter. im not sure if ill shave it again or not. this is all i will write for now. for more pictures go to my picture pages link...i will hopefully be updating this every so often so keep checking back....thanks for coming to my page....hi, gertie! **************************************************SONNTAG, 27 OKTOBER i updated my page so now theres more pictures. they dont really look as well as i wish they would, but its something. hopefully ill have more pictures to put on here in a couple weeks when i come back from turkey. i am leaving this friday to go to turkey from nov 1-11 with amanda and matt, 2 other trainees. we are planning on going to istanbul, cappadocia, ephesus and fethiye. we might also be going to bodrum. i am very excited about a nice long vacation from work. i guess maybe some of you dont know what i do for work so i guess i can talk about it a bit. i work in the kitchen in thomashof tagüngstatte, a mennonite conference center, thats in the very small town of thomashof. its not really even a town...its a neighborhood really...i wash the dishes, set tables, clean, cut veggies, taste things for ilse, get the spots off silverware, and clean some more. i usually have every other weekend off and maybe a day off in between that. my work weekdays are about 6 1/2-7 hours long and weekends are 8 and 7 hours. on my time when i dont work i read, use the computer that the nice people at juwe let me use, sleep, eat, walk around karlsruhe, go to the american library, watch movies(in german and in english), do laundry, watch Friends with the 2 Zivis here that have tons of episodes on their computer, and i also have the occassional walk. i also have german classes on tuesday and thursday nights. those havent gotten me too far in the language yet though...well, this is enough for now....tschüß! oh, by the way, i added a new picture to the first picture page so go back there again for it...**********************************************31 OKTOBER 2002......Happy Halloween! i just wanted to let you know that i am leaving tonight for my trip to Turkey. i meet up with amanda and matthew in esslingen. tomorrow around 11am we leave from the stuttgart airport, which is close by. i am quite excited and i think i am buying a video camera before i leave here :o) keep me in your prayers.....später..**********************************14 NOVEMBER.....i got back from a good trip to turkey this past sunday. i have been trying for the last hour and more to scan some pictures for my page but the scanner hates me and is making them either doggone huge or too pixilated...so i do have one new picture, but warning, its huge....i will try another day to do more but i give up for today. plus i have class this evening, so i need to get off this computer and get ready for that....i hope you are doing well and i will catch you up on my ventures east....********************************************16 NOVEMBER....hello again. i have updated my webpage again for your viewing pleasure. my pictures of Turkey are up so go check them out. i believe there is 4 more picture pages, i was a picture-taking fiend in Turkey...i have been on the computer a rather long time now so next time i will write about my trip....hope all is well with you and if you havent emailed me lately, then you should do so because i worked hard on these pictures :o) oh, and sorry this is just one long message, it wont let me do different paragraphs for some reason....also recheck the 2nd picture page if youve seen it within the last week, the 3rd picture got moved and so theres a new one there.....God bless**********************************25 Dezember 2002....merry christmas!
