The Eric Gales Band Live at BB King's in Los Angeles!

It was a very cool night. Low turnout. About 20 or 30 people which is a small turnout for a venue like BB Kings. I was very surprised. Mostly tourists and people who didn't know what they were in for. A couple of guitar freaks like myself were there. I knew I was in for some serious guitar.

Man oh man! Ungodly tones!

Wailing oh his axe! Eric digs mucho slap back delay ala Eric Johnson. He doesn't mind playing either. I mean he likes to start playing even before the band kicks in. He's a guitar player! Smokin' notes all the way around.

His note selection is very pentatonic but it ain't your typical Clapton fare. He connects pentatonic runs up and down the neck as opposed standard across the neck box patterns. When you hear a long pentatonic run being played fast, it sounds more open sounding and with wider intervals. It breathes! Sounds prettier and not as wanky as the easier to finger minor three note per string stuff.

Tighter shot!

I am not shy! Especailly after a few Rum & Cokes. I damn near jumped right up on the lip of the stage to get this shot. Like a true entertainer he was more than happy to look cool while I took this shot.

Tighter shot!

Serious Rivera Bonehead action. Doing the A/B wet dry thang. Sounded huge from the audience. Notice the rack delay on the amp to the right. I think it's a Chandler.
