The Task

While all members of the team are ultimately responsible for the project, students will concentrate their efforts in the following areas: Project Manager, Activities Coordinator, and Accountant.

As a group, you will conduct a community assessment and literature review of underserved, financially challenged Hispanic populations as well as diabetic information concerning the Hispanic population. The assessment and review should include comparisons and information from 2010 Leading Health Indicators and Goals and Objectives. From the assessment and review, you will be able to formulate an argument defending your need for funding to support a diabetes prevention education program for a local migrant Hispanic group.

The format you will use is from a real grant application sponsored by the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation.
