Evaluation
Upon completion of this course, students will demonstrate evidence of the ability to:
| Analyze selected concepts of health and community and how they impact the lifestyle of specific population groups. | |
| Utilize the principles of health education as they apply to population groups and communities. | |
| Synthesize selected concepts and theories related to health promotion and disease prevention as they apply to population groups and communities. | |
| Evaluate primary, secondary and tertiary preventive measures, including the appraisal of recommended screening guidelines. | |
| Demonstrate effective assessment skills through the understanding and use of standardized or accepted measurement tools. | |
| Analyze health promotion or disease prevention service needs for a selected community incorporating cultural aspects of specific population groups. |
The above outcome criteria will be evaluated through forum discussions, community assessment, and a small community-focused grant proposal.
