SAFE IN THESE ARMS

We know you can have sex without love but can you have love without sex?

Bao Ying, Bruce San and James Seow

Directed by William Wu
Written by Kenneth Kwok and Matthew Lyon

Stephanie is in love with Darren. But Darren does not want to commit himself to a relationship with her because of his HIV status.

Stephanie is also in love with Anthony ... is she? Is he? Because Anthony is also in love with Michael - in a world in which he is told he cannot love. He shouldn’t love. And he certainly shouldn’t have sex with the man he loves. And let's not even start with Anthony and Darren ...

SAFE IN THESE ARMS is the story of three best friends, Stephanie, Darren and Anthony, who live together, fight with one another - and slowly learn what it means to love and be in love. And how sometimes the one you love the most of all isn't always the one you can have sex with.

An original English-language script set entirely in the living room of a HDB apartment, SAFE IN THESE ARMS takes on a sitcom-styled approach to exploring the romantic and sexual possibilities of love and friendship in the 90's.
