Hi There
Welcome to my Hutchie.
My name is Eilly & I live in Australia. Population is around 17 million people. We have a very mixed & different culture of people living here.
The most populated State is New South Wales, the smallest is Tasmania which is off the coast, you have to go by Air or Sea to get there.

I relocated to Queensland in 2001. It was a big move for me as I have lived in Victoria for most of my life. Victoria is the 2nd largest State in Population. Capital of Victoria is Melbourne, which is a thriving city, with the most beautiful gardens you would ever see. I grew up in a little fishing town named San Remo which is adjoined to an Island (Philip Island) by a bridge & had to go 30 kilometres to the nearest High school.
On the Island is the biggest colony of Koalas. There are also Fairy Penguins & Sea Lion Seals.
There is a Grand Prix racing track on the Island, where they race cars & bikes from all over the world. When I was 16, I got into the boot of a car & 3 cars raced around the track, wouldn't do it now, but at that age, it was great fun.
At 16 I left school & had to come to the city for work.
Unfortunately there weren't any jobs for girls in the town where I grew up, I hated leaving home, but I really had no choice.
I lived with a cousin & her husband, & he was a butcher.I had no idea what type of work I wanted to do, so I started to hang around his butcher shop, just doing odd jobs.
He saw that I was very interested at what was happening, so suggested I get an apprenticeship, which I did. 4 years later I had my full trade papers, which made me the first female butcher in Victoria.
It was very heavy work & long hours, but I really did enjoy it. (Unfortunately I am now paying for the heavy work, with a bad back, but thats the breaks).
I live with my husband (Tony) & my siamese cat (Sangh), both of whom really keeps me on my toes.
I spend a lot of time on my Puter, which I really enjoy.
The help I have had from the people in Yahoo Help has been invaluable, I would never had got to this stage without them.I still have a long way to go, but hopefully I will get there. I really thank all those Guys. Also I have made some wonderful friends, whom I hope I will know for life, or at least many years to come.
I enjoy swimming, but dont go as much as I should these days. I also like reading, just about anything will keep me interested.
I don't play any sports, but I really enjoy Cricket & Tennis, so always watch them on TV. Our main winter sport is Aussie Rules Football, & the grounds are packed every time a game is played. The main ground is the M.C.G which caters for around 110,000 people, a better ground you wouldn't find. Unless you were there, you wouldn't believe the atmosphere. It is so great.
Queensland is absolutely beautiful, as the saying goes, beautiful one day, perfect the next. The average temperature is around 30 degrees celcius, although it can get to 40 degrees celcius in the summer & drops to around 23 in the winter. The beaches are as white as snow & the water is always warm. A nicer place to live would be very hard to find. It is a very relaxed place, & there is always somethig going on to keep you entertained, even if it is just a drive along the coast.
