Coaching Staff

Just to give everyone a little background on the coaches...

Mike Yacyunk  - Head Coach

• Played 8 years of minor hockey for the Mississauga Reps Organization

• Drafted by the Belleville Bulls in 1991 - traded and played with the Kingston Frontenacs

• Member of Brampton Capitals 1995 Ontario Championship Team that set OPJHL Playoff record of 19 consecutive wins

• 3 year coach of the Mississauga Terriers - 1 City Championship, 1 Ontario Gold Medal

• After the Mississauga Reps had a dismal 7 win season, Coach Yacyunk took over for the next two years leading the team to 1 City Championship and 1 Ontario Bronze Medal

• The 2000-2001 Bramalea Blues started the season 5-14-1-2 until Coach Yacyunk took over leading the team to a 14-8-2-3 record in the final 27 games to boost the team into the playoffs

• Took the 1st place Milton Merchants to 7 games.  Milton eventually won the West

Mike Currer - Assistant Coach

• 5 time Juvenile 'AAA' City Championship Winner

• 3 Ontario Gold Medals

• 1 Ontario Bronze Medal

• 1 Silver Stick Championship

• 7 years as assistant coach of the Mississauga North Stars

• 5 years with Cooksville Navajo 'A' winning 2 league Championships and making it to the finals 3 more times

• 1 year as head coach of Applewood Cree 'A'
