ITALY

The days in Austria moved so fast
that I really can not divide invents in any logical segments. My unit of
Royal Yugoslav Army under command of captain Cotic was in a way 'a part'
of the British 8th Army, that came over the Alps from Italy. All our
'being there' is squeezed in a week or less. Since we requested to be sent
to Italy to join other Royal Yugoslav units, as we thought being assembled
in Italy, the British high command decided to get red of us and send us to
camps in Italy. So one day we were loaded on several military trucks, our
unit and civilians, we were in a way the 'military escort' of the
convoy. We crossed from Austria to Italy, Up the Alps and
down the Alps we stopped in Udine Italian Province of Venetia
Julia.
