My father was transferred to Bela Crkva, located far away on the Romanian border, close to the river Danube. The town is in the region of Banat, which is part of the province of Vojvodina, at that time called Dunavska Banovina, the region of the river Danube. He became manager in an orphanage for boys aged up to about 12. Father was responsible for all purchases, as well as day to day accounting of all expenses. The Region of Banat and Vojvodina was the bread basket of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Bela Crkva is situated on the foot hills of Transylvania mountains, the country of count Dracula.
