GESTAPO

....It was evening on November 14th. Aunt Mimi told me that she will have plum dumplings for supper and aunt Marta invited me to come on crepes. I thought I will first go to aunt Marta for crêpes and then return to aunt Mimi for dumplings. I did not want to miss either one. As I was going toward the bus stop around the corner from the Justice Department. Two men came behind me, grabbed me under my arms, and said in German 'please come with us'. I immediately new who they were, but anyway asked them 'where are you taking me?' 'you will see' was the reply. That how I started my encounter with GESTAPO. The German secret police.
They checked me in to the main GESTAPO prison in Ljubljana called the submarine. All my documents were taken. On me they found two incriminating idioms, a royal Yugoslav emblem, two headed white eagle with crown on it, and an identification card supposedly issued by the general Draza Mihajlovic, which, I found later that it was fake. The card was given to me by a Serb Volunteer that I met in the town of Ilirska Bistrica. He never claimed that it was genuine, the man from German counter intelligence (DSS) who interrogated me vouched that it was fake. So I found myself in a solitary cell on the second floor of the notorious 'submarine'. In place of two delicious meals, I ended without the supper. At that time I did not worry about not eating, instead I contemplated my new situaion.
