WASA A Premiership 2004 Photos 1

“a blur of blue, white and teal”

To all the swimmers who raced for the Arena Swim Club on Friday at the A Grade Premiership and on Saturday at the C Grade Premiership a great big WELL DONE and TOP EFFORT from you all. The Arena Swim Club finished 3rd in both competitions which is a creditable placing which emphasised where we are at in terms of State level swimming. An interesting point from the 2 days of competition is that in both grades after the 1 st 10 events we were in 3 rd position and stayed there all the way through. Other clubs climbed above us and dropped below as the races were swum but we stayed 3 rd all night and all day. We must now take time to reassess our goals and we must aim to pursue our goals at a higher level.

To the coaching staff, Sarah, Dani and Mark my thanks to you all for your brilliant teamwork in bringing together 2 sides in the 1 competition. Not only have you provided more opportunities to swimmers in the Arena Swim Club but have taught the lesson of aspiring to achieve and not to fear the risk of failure. To members of the Arena Swim Club committee in organising buses, streamers, balloons and the foamy marlins etc thanx an absolute heap. The buses were tops and made for a loud trip down to Challenge Stadium which got everyone in the right mood. To parents of swimmers who attended, I trust you all enjoyed your time, at these times we can all understand how training can be tough for us all but sport can only be healthy for now and later on in life.
