Founded in 1866, Chesterfield are the fourth oldest football club in England. Despite their long history, Success has prove elusive for the Spireites, although that can claim to have won one international trophy - the Anglo-Scottish Cup in 1981. Perhaps, though, Chesterfield's greatest moment came as recently as 1997 when only a REFEREEING ERROR prevented the club from becoming the first from outside the top two divisions to reach the F.A Cup Final.
