An Introduction to Myself and My hair

Hi everyone! Welcome to my journal. I hope that you are able to follow me on my journey to waistlength hair. I am a Biology/Secondary Education major at the University of Maryland-College Park and hope to be at waistlength or close to it, by the time I walk the stage in 2008 :)
As a child I had thick shoulder blade hair, that my mother refused to relax. She only gave in when I turned 15 years old and began taking care of my own hair...I chopped and was frying my hair with the hot comb...nobody could tell me anything. Once I got into highschool, I didnt like my own hair so i opted for sew-in and GLUED weaves....

I would keep them in for months at a time, not washing or caring for it. Finally the summer after my senior year 2004 in highschool my mom pleaded for me to grow my own hair out and say goodbye to the fake hair....it was a hard decision but i did...i cried when i went to the hairsalon that summer and the little stringy hair that i had left was cut off...

So then I was finally off to college. That summer I didnt do much to my hair...I found the boards and started washing my hair weekly, wrapping it up and tying it up with a satin cloth...my hair thrived...I was also taking Biotin as well as a multivitamin....

and it continued growing....
