Too much of a good thing
Mood:  d'oh
Now Playing: Miles Davis
Topic: life musing
I took the day off from work today for no real reason than the fact that i could. I realize that makes little sense, but just having the option to take the day was enough to prompt the decision. Weird, huh?

Enough already with Green Day on the radio. This is a classic example of radio beating a good song to death, eventually making you purposely avoid material you once enjoyed. It's almost like there is a finite number of times any given song, story, film, book, etc. can be enjoyed. The amount of times is certainly derived via the unscientific method. Some form of a persons memories and ability to enjoy certain material combining with personality traits such as easily bored or just plain boring.

Time to read some more comics!

Wrestling coming up soon, one of those true guilty pleasures. It's rarely very good, largely predictable, and crass. And I almost always have in on Monday nights. Junkfood for the brain.

First Post of 2006
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: Giants/Panthers NFC Playoff game
Topic: All Over The Board
Today is one of those days where I just don't want to have to deal with anyone. I woke up with muscle spasms in my upper back, a long term I have when this area tightens up. I had fallen asleep in the attic, on the futon. I was awakened by the cat, looking for for 3 am feeding.

Giants just made a colossal mistake. They had forced a punt with just under 2 minutes left, and then the ball caromed off a giant player from behind, and the Panthers recovered. It's basically a guarenteed 3 pts. minumum, which will leave the Panthers up 10-0. Not freaking good.

Anyway, after a fun night out with a good buddy last night, I paid the piper today. our buddy greenie was there but he was being really harsh about everything. Left me needing some tea with honey today to soothe things over.

So my beloved Scarlet Knights are in their first bowl game in 27 years. They are never won a bowl game. and they went into the game as 10 pt underdogs to Arizona State. Yet right now with 9 min. left, it's all tied up at 24.

What the hell are the Red Sox doing?

Hmm, decision, decision.

But I am trying to make blog attempts, in order to get writing done.

Blazin into 35. Noticing small changes, as I youthanize my clothing slowly and subtly. (My own word, by the way, with the Youth... ) Next year is a big year, the first year of the second half. If 40 is anything similar, then a successful 5 year stint can really soften the blow... 5 year plans, baby an early sign of middle age thinking (woo-hoo). No more checking off the hip demographic of 18-34 year olds. Nope, now it's 35-49 year olds, an entirely different feel.

I have to hide in the house tonight, as I am avoiding a X-mas party at our neighbors. 2 Houses over. I am sure the prty would be fine, but with the wife sick and unable to attend, the idea of dealing with a crowd of strangers rather unappealing. Since my bud Mr. Green was hanging out with me anyway, there was really no need to attend. But I have to play the sick card.. you know, the classic lie wrapped in truth. Tell the neighbors that we were sick, when if fact if you view we as a unit and half the unit being sick constituting the unit being sick, then the truth is there...

Hypothetically speaking, of course. This is a work of fiction, meant to help flesh out certin chracters for upcoming stories.

What up homies, how you been? I am back to offer up new stuff...... lot o f things to say. 35th birthday coming up soon... which statistically is the halfway point of a person born in 1970. So Halftime in a statisticaly perfect world.

I do have the cool Mrs., who gave some cool gifts during the birthday week. These included the incredibly trippy Donnie Darko the Directors cut.... I will come back when a bit more coherent and write a review... in short, you must see this movie, and rewatch it with some regularity for it's out there

Sin city Re cut, Unedited and extended... a great package, eatrly waiting too rewatch.

Being Smart is fun (yet sad)
Mood:  blue
Now Playing: Patriots/Bills Sunday night foot ball
Topic: Politics
Well, the house of cards has begun to crumble. Libby indicted. Delay indicted. Frist under investigation. Rove still under investigation. My hope is that the lies will begin to seep out now, but yet a problem still remains. The moronic Republicans who still refuse to believe that their boy king and his regime is corrupt as all hell!

Sadly, winning and being acknowleged for being aware of these kinds of lies early really hasn't benefitted me. Our country is still a mess, the war rages on, the economy is destroyed, and the standing of the U.S. internationally is still pathetic. Oh, the following 39 months is Bush World can't end soon enough.

End Times
Mood:  down
Now Playing: Melissa by the Allman brothers
Topic: All Over The Board
So I just did a qui k scan through the NY Times highlighted sections for today's paper. Perhaps it was just the cheat Pinot Grigio, Harvey and Mr. Green, but the words connected like a bunch of puzzle pieces. A continuing war in the Middle East, on 2 fronts, (Afghanistan and Iraq). A second natural disaster, a storm considered to possibly be the 4th strongest ever, aimed to hit Texas. (Where the current usurper to the throne, GWB reigns supreme.) After the test run on the less entitled (i.e. black, poor, or both) the evacuation plans seem well organized. Perhaps it's because Brownie is no longer in charge, but or an examples of lessons well learned, but I lean towards the fact that Bush lives in Texas. Notice how well Fla. handles their hurricanes... perhaps the presence of Jeb Bush and the need for votes there had somethng to do with that?

3rd day in a row
Mood:  d'oh
Now Playing: Seinfeld
Topic: life musing
I love Seinfeld. Clearly one of the defining tv shows for my generation. As a teenager into my 20's, Seinfeld blossomed from a hip/rough shows, into a phenomenon, and left on top of it's game. I remember when I first became involved with my wife 8 years ago she told me she didn't like the show. She stated that there were no likeable characters. My wife has very good taste, (she picked me, ba dum dum). She is also a good hearted midwesterner who hadn't yet been exposed to the coldness of the Northeast.

I remember in college leaving my night class early to make it back in time for Seinfeld. Me, Mr. green, Hall, Ranabeast, Simitz, Eric, Steve and Seinfeld. Good times.
