Day 17
Ok, No change in weight. Ok with it. Ate exact as Day 1... Phase 1, Fruit Breakfast, 2 fruits and brown rice lunch, 2 fruits and brown rice dinner.

I actually am not hungry or craving anything in between.

Here is The good news. ..... !!

Grandson was here all day and he is a junk food eater. He is very hyper so he runs it off fast. He had donuts and all kinds of stuff. I said, "Nope" don't want any when he offered to share. Something I have never done before is to turn down 'junk food'

Feeling GREAT!! it is coming off !! Have had a few dizzy moments. My Bp was up yesterday so going to add in banana over another fruit.

My daughter said yesterday, "Mom can see you are losing you have lost your 'chins '"... A Happy moment!!

Day 13
Weigh in:248 still there, but am ok with it. I did not put it on overnight and cannot expect to take it off overnight.

Ate exactly as Day 1, Phase 1. I am feeling great and no hunger pains. I did have a little dizziness but think that was more from the heat than anything.

Turned Hot here in Kentucky.

WEIGH IN : 248.. OKKKKKKK things are moving again. I guess I was just at a platau and my body had to catch up ...

Ate EXACT as Day 1, no exceptions.

Got my Bike out, I bought 2 years ago and was gonna RIDE. HA HA. My grandkids use it. Anyway, had a flat. So got air in it.

Now it is raining out. UMMMMMM A sign from Above that I need the day off?

Weigh in: 250 ( digital scales ) no change in weight today.

Ate exactly as Day 1, Phase 1, no exceptions.

I guess I am at a small platau, that is ok. I am going to add in some exercise. I am now feeling like I can move some.

I am only going to measure on the week's anniversay date, so my next meausure will be June 15, Stay tuned for that.

Day 8 - Still going strong, measured Day 7
Weight at new Digital scales: 250
Weight on dr scales: 247 sooooo I guess my old dial scales are wrong wrong wrong. Because the Dr scales put me at what I THOUGHT I started at. Dang... I was so so so so much heavier than I thought :::::((((
My old original scales have me at 235 !! I LIKE THAT NUMBER... :::)))))

Ate same as Day 1, Phase 1, no exceptions.

The GOOD GOOD GOOD News is I feel better. !!!
I have NOT cheated one time. We have had picnics in family, the family did a movie night with popcorn and snacks, NO way, I said NO NO NO and I did not hunger for that crap.

Also, I do no have sugar cravings. I don't understand it, cause I used to crave candy bars and well anything.

Sorry I have been not posting but my daughter had a little medical problem, she just got out of hospital from a major operation, and I was at her house.

On to the facts. Today is Day 8 and I am still sticking STRICT to the Rice Diet, Phase 1.

I measured yesterday, the 1 week anniversary of my starting and the good news is I have lost in every area. Not a huge amount but a little less is a little less.

The biggest loss was in my mid belly, my waist and fat roll under my waist.

Mid Belly was 52, now 50 1/2
Waist: was 53, now 51
Lower waist, fat roll was 58 1/2, now 57
Hips was 53 1/2 now 52

Almost all others were like 1/2 inch except my calf which went up so I think I may have measured different. :::(((((

Anyway, I weighed at my daughter's dr's scales, which dr scales are supposed to be accurate. I weighted less than my new digial scales but more than my original scales. So now I am totally confused. But like Tina said, it is better measured by the clothes and the measureing tape.

Day 5 - Things looking Better today !!!!
Weigh in: 253 On new digital scales.
Ate exacty as Day 1, no exceptions, feeling good, full with no hunger cravings.

Well I decided that I might as well weigh this morning on the NEW DIGITAL SCALES and hoped that the horrible number that was on there yesterday was gone. IT was not, but I did lose 5 lbs and started the day at 253. Not happy with the number but resolved that I must have weighted at least 268 to start with and now I know why I was tired and could not walk long distances without my ankles giving out.

SO I am starting the day with a new attitude, I am losing weight, I am staying STRICTLY on the Rice Diet, Phase 1, with NO exceptions and feeling better.

The kids had a movie and popcorn and chocolate candy two nights ago, and I did not even take 1 piece of popcorn or a tiny bite of chocolate. ((( Chocolate is my most favorite in the world ))

I am RESOLVED to stay on this diet, and now more than ever when I find that I still weight 6 more pounds than I thought I did when I started on Day 1, June 1, 2005.

I am HAPPY though That I found the RICE DIET and it is working and I am able to stay on it, and not crave food, or have the least inclingly to cheat and sneak food. After all, who would I be cheating or lying to but ME....

DAY 4 - Not good news, Major setback, not diet, SCALES!

WEIGH IN: 258 :::((((((
Ate exactly same as day 1, no exceptions. Phase 1 Rice Diet.

I have a major problem and not sure what to do. I was weighing in on my old old old and I mean old dial scales, and yes my grandkids had played with them, darn. I bought a new set of digital scales and I am dumbfounded. I am out of sorts. I am bewildered. And Most of all I am very very very sad. :::(((((

You see the NEW DIGITAL SCALES put me at about 20 pounds MORE than my old scales that were obviously wrong. What a downfall for me to get on these new scales and see the figure 258. When I THOUGHT I started at 247.

But my oldest granddaughter was with me and she tried them first and she is on a diet also and say this is great I am 3 more pounds lighter then when I went to the dr last week. I said to her, after I weighted in, these scales are so far WRONG and OFF it is not even funny. "No Grandma they are 100% RIGHT!"

Needless to say, I had a bad bad night. I could not believe that I must have weighted approximately 268 because I am positive I have lost at least 10 lbs, I can already tell putting on my pants and my bra.

Well, I will sleep tonight and get up in morning with a NEW POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

Weigh in: 238 lbs. WOOO I lost another 3 pounds. Ate same as Day 1, and drank the 40 oz of water and ran and ran and ran to bathroom... I am still in a good mood with NO HUNGER in between. The fruit and rice really seem to fill me up and I have had NO cravings for anything. GOOOOD for me.. can't wait to see what tomorrow brings...

SO my total weight loss for 2 entire days is 9 lbs. ::)))))))

Day 2: June 2, 2005
WEIGH IN: 241 lbs. I HAVE LOST 5 lbs. :) And I know it all went to the running to the bathroom urinating all day and night. WHEW I don't know what this diet is doing, but I am sure getting rid of a lot of fluid. Ate Same exact as Day 1, with no exceptions. And ran and ran to the bathroom all day and night. Looking forward to Day three weighin. I feel lighter, is that possible in only 2 days!!! ?!!!

FIRST DAY AND INFORMATION ABOUT ME
June 1, 2005

* START OF RICE DIET *

Well I did it, I started, and long long long overdue, a diet. Been talking about it for about 5 years now. Was on one, and walking, drinking lots of water and losing weight and feeling sooo much better about myself. A low carb diet which was working well. I was at about 225 lbs. Overweight then but heading down and feeling good. That was in 1999.

Then Life had a little surprise and January 18, 2000, my husband, of 40 years as of May 29, 2005, had a massive heart attack. Of course, everything changed, life as we knew it was a far away dream. We spent weeks in the hospital ((( He coded - flat lined - and took a trip to the other side on January 20, 2000 ))). After that was an emergency surgery to put in a pacemaker. Then he had another emergency surgery due to a blood loss of nearly 3.5 units of blood. After that, he has nerve damage in his left leg and in constant pain. He had to come home to get strong enough to under go open heart surgery in March of 2000. He took a trip in a life support ambulance while home trying to build up his strength. He did undergo quadtriple bypass in March 2000. Then in Febuary of 2001, we went down again, and a permanent pacemaker was inplanted with yet another surgery. Then, two weeks later due to some difficulty with the pacemaker, another surgery to replace one of the leads. That brings us to a long road since January 2000, until Now, June 1, 2005.

Due to the stress of all of the above with my husband, as much as I seemed to want to, I did not do anything about my weight. I was just too exhausted after taking care of him and stressed out to the max. SO my weight just kept piling on. Once my husband could get around by himself, without my help, he took over most of the cooking detail, as it was about all he could do. And because he wanted to do something for me for being there with him, his way of helping was to fix food. So I ate, and he cooked.

That leads us to today, June 1, 2005, in a nutshell. Now some background on me. I am presently 61 and 1/2 years of age, and have some health issues. Severe Degenerative disc disease of the lower back, with arthritis. Migraine headaches, High Blood pressure, Panic Attacks, Anxiety, Depression and a nerve problem whereby I wake in the night itching and burning in my hands, feet like I was being bite by fireants all of which I am on medication for.
I have 5 children, all grown with families - 14 grandchildren and step grandchildren. 2 great grandchildren. I am very involved with my family and they all live fairly close to me. I go to school functions and ballgames of my grands. My family is no different than anyother I am sure, and we have issues. Sometimes things go along fine, then sometimes there seems to be battles and problems all over. I guess that is life and stress at its finest. I do maintain, for the most part, a very positive outlook on life and have a great sense of humor.

Weigh in: 247 lbs. THE HEAVIEST I HAVE EVER BEEN and Not :::((( proud of it.
I followed the Rice diet to the max. 1 fruit for breakfast, with drink. 2 fruits for lunch with 3/4 cup brown rice and drink. 2 fruits for dinner with 3/4 brown rice and drink. I also drank 40 oz of water. (((((( I ran all day to the bathroom, so something is happening )))
