Change of Plans

Why is it whenever I try to do something, it goes wrong, or gets changed? The 'Lounge Around Movie Night' has now turned into a friend's birthday party. I'm ok with it, I dont mind that, but I'd still really like to be able to invite Mike. Annie has decided that she doesn't want anyone but me, Brit, my other best friend, and Brit's boyfriend Jamie, and Annie's boyfriend-ish guy Chris, who's leaving for a 9 month exchange type program next week. I'd really like to see Mike, but I know she doesn't want me to invite him. I think I'm going to invite him and try to figure things out from there. I mean, the party wasnt supposed to be her birthday anyway.
