A great day!

We had a great Saturday today! First I took the kids to Mangelsen's Christmas open house. They each colored a picture to give to Santa, who was very impressed with their artistic abilities. (I think they might have been buttering him up in hopes of extra presents :) )They each made a snowflake Christmas tree ornament. And, a radio station was giving away prizes there. Myles won the big prize! He and dad are going to see Christmas with the Cranks next Saturday morning! He was so excited about the win! After that, we went to see the Polar Express. I had heard mixed reviews of the movie and wasn't sure what to expect. It is one of the very few children's books I haven't read. We absolutely loved it! I highly recommend it.

A Big Day for Myles
Today was a big day for Myles. He was selected as one of only 15 students in his whole elementary school to attend a special library field trip next Monday. He was selected based on his love of reading and his display of respect and responsibility! We are very proud of him. Myles is mostly excited about the ride on the school bus. It will be his first ride on a school bus! To a boy who is crazy about cars and trucks, this is a very big deal!

HALLOWEEN
It was finally time for trick or treating!! The kids were very excited about it. I had taken them to Oakview Mall on Friday for their safe family trick or treat night, so they had already had one day of candy overload. Teensie dressed up as a care bear and Myles was Spiderman. They were both anxious to see if other kids were out in the same costumes. Myles was on a mission. He was hoping to hit every house in the city. We didn't quite make it that far. Once we called it quits, Myles promptly sorted out all his candy into piles. Had to take inventory. We will probably have enough candy to last until next Halloween!

It's Pumpkin Carvin' Time

Today we carved our pumpkins! It was very fun! Myles did all the hard work (with a little help from dad, of course).

Teensie wasn't too into the gross part, so she spent her time on the couch chatting on the phone.

When the time came to draw on the pumpkin faces, the kids were both inspired.

The faces turned out really scary! So we took them out onto the porch to put in a candle and light them. The kids sat next to the pumpkins and asked to be in the picture with their pumpkins; however, from the picture, you would think they were not having a happy Halloween.

It really was a fun night!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

First Blog
Mood:  silly
This is our first blog! Now everyone can check in on our exciting lives. A lot has been going on here. On Saturday, October 9th, Myles lost his first tooth! Very exciting morning for him. He had big hopes that the tooth fairy would leave him $10.00. However, the tooth fair was not as generous as he had hoped. Here is a picture of his new smile. We took the kids to Vala's Pumpkin Patch last Monday. They had a blast!
