Bad strip-mall neighbors
Thursday, 14 July 2005

A message was written by someone in the neighboring veterinary clinic... well.. CAT clinic.. on a piece of paper and stuck to the dumpster that my place of works shares with them. I discovered it when I arrived at work Wednesday morning. Apparently they got PO'ed at a single piece of cardboard that was in the trash dumpster (confirmed by me).. note that it was a SINGLE piece of cardboard... and wrote something like this:

-----------------

*********** People:
DON'T BE LAZY!
The cardboard dumpster is 5 steps behind you! The trash dumpster is for TRASH ONLY!

----------------

A. Our drivers carry heavy bags past up to 6 of their cars in the same parking lot... EVERY DAY... multiple times. I say 6 of their cars.. meaning that 6 of their employees are taking up spots in the back parking lot.. forcing our drivers to walk seemingly half a block to their cars while Cat Clinic employees are taking up spots nearest our front door. CatClinic people are NOT getting in and out of their cars every half hour. Our drivers are.

B. I personally haven't seen a collective group more stuck up and snotty than the CatClinic employees - and I felt that way even before one of their sisterhood pasted that note this morning.

C. There have been at least three times in the past where THEIR waste has cluttered the parking lot - most notably, a severed cat tail was left behind. I know that's gross.. and I hate to even mention it... but anyone with ANY common sense and a veterinary certificate SHOULD notice that just laying there on the concrete? Someone finally did... and discarded it before I could snag it and hang it on their front door handle.

And they want to complain to us for being LAZY... and leaving cardboard in the trash dumpster. What a joke.

I can't cuss on Angelfire.. but I sure have some choice words for our strip-mall neighbors.

BTW - they also overcharge.. I can take my cat to two other vets nearby for the same services for 1/3 the cost.

Who is lazy in this case... my business or theirs? You all would know my response.. but I'm willing to listen to other opinions.. chime in!

-Matt
