Batteries.... 100 plus years ago they had electric cars and the batteries for them are not much different than todays.... At least as far as storage ability and charging ability... I mention this because computers came a long ways in a short pierd of time.... The speed and capacity were both increased steadly over a few years....

So why hasn't battery technology made any progress.... Probably because there wasn't a need like a Bill Gates wanting faster and smaller chips with greater capacity etc.... Computer chip companies gave the computer companies what ever they asked for because that's how they stayed in business....

Wanted to mention this because electric cars cannot come into their own without a good enough electric drive and storage system.... Or whatever new technology is discovered... But we need better batteries and lighter batteries and batteries with larger capacity...

Decided to look at electric car converting information as that seems to Me to be the latest frontier stuff.... Not easy to increase range with present available equipment and looking for new and better ways of doing things....    Well yesterday while pulling my bag along the bottom tore and my container of coins must have opened and the 
lid and coins were lost.... So today I washed clothes in the shower this morning and rode up to Pasco... Went to
 BK and got a side salad with Italian and then got a cheesy/bacon wrap... Both were excellent...
 
Then I went across the street to the Sheriffs Thrift Store and got a pair of heavy shoes for 3 bucks... A nice 
long sleve shirt and a T shirt with pocket... And I got a new bag.... 7 bucks but it is a real nice bag says
 samsanite and looks new.... 
 
So I'm good for go right now ha ha....  Nothing else to do up there actually... Can't even use their library 
computers without one of their cards which I've mentioned before.... So I returned and gave the bus pass 1.25 
up from 75 cents last time ta da to someone waiting to get on the bus....
 
Looks more country up there bit also cooler.... Got a hurricane... Overcast but no rain or wind yet.... Air

Well last night I got on the treadmill before closing and did a hill climb twice which really works my lungs 
and everything else I think...? Afterwards I had sardine soup and crackers but didn't bother eating the potted
 meat or potato sticks as I was full... 
I really like the tasty soup and I did it for the fish oil they were talking about on uglychart.com....
 
So now I can barely jog my legs being stiff etc the knee.... So I can't sleep and I finally get up and I do a 
few squats and then I stretch the hamstrings.... Really laid into the bad leg hams... Well I walked to the end 
of the yard and I tried to jog back...  Wasn't easy and the knees felt tender and uncomfortable...
 
So I squat for a short time and I do it again.... And I repeat everything and do it again... After 5 or 6 times 
I could actually run wide open pretty much showing that I kept improving.... So I've sat all day today though 
ha ha.... Standing right now at the computer.... Losing the shoe without the sole and heal puts pressure back 
on the bad knee's outside side.... 
 
But I was happy that I did better... And this morning after coffee I went into the gym and did better than 
usual.... Felt great could move pretty good and was hitting the basket more than usual...  

You couldn't pay Me to show up at a ymca at 5
 in the morning... O(*___*)O
I'm only there because I have no place else to take a shower etc.... he he

Was looking at photo blogs and there are tons of them to view, and I saw the clear and wonderful pictures that my rather modest camera cannot equal.... Was satisfied until I saw the photo's taken with better camera's.... Anyway it is the content mostly that counts but a fantastic picture holds its own regardless of content maybe.....? O(*___*)O

Well I've been sitting here awhile and I want to get moving.... I should stand at the computer because a couple of hours sitting doesn't do you a lot of good.... Especially when your used to being active all day long every day.... Well I just wanted to post something and I haven't anything important to say... So exercise if your on the computer a lot ta da....

So what is happening....? Exercise for those who don't do manual labor and are in their retirement years.... Saw a guy in a wheel chair, grey hair, and huge.... Looks like He is trying to eat Himself to death in my opinion.... It is always difficult to see ourselves and more so to do anything about it.... Why, I don't know.... Of course others are on top of everything and the word problem doesn't even exist for them.... I also have eating problems... I dehydrate fast here in Florida and I'm out on the streets all the time and just getting to a decent restroom isn't all that eady... Go across town to use the John and it's out of order... The number of "Out of order" restroom signs I've seen in my life would be a biggie ha ha.... And the foods.... I eat the cheap junk foods a lot.... Pot roast at a restaurant isn't practical for me.... Sometimes I get chinese but I overeat as they serve a large portion with their meals.... Here I don't burn the calories that I do in the Winter time or in colder parts of the Country.... Hence, I need less food than I would otherwise.... If I was working 8 hours I'd be burning up calories also, but I don't work anymore... I even coast when I exercise...

I figured I'd go less heavy on weights because of age etc and so I burn less calories that way also and then I'm stuffed and I don't even feel up to exercising.... I know this sounds like crap but it's the World I'm living in right now.... You would think at an advanced age one would be in control of things like that, you know, the simple things, but NO that doesn't happen.... These simple facts of life and simple routine things end up controlling us.... But it's all a game of sorts... Filling the day, passing the time etc.... Went and saw "Brideshead Revisited" Sunday and it was OK.... Don't like Gay stuff but that's just my outlook on life and as it should be.... A person going to Morocco and being happy high and drunk doesn't seem normal sane ar even that great... But an addict might like that lifestyle....? Rich people live in a different World than the average person does... And the average person lives a lot different than a down and out person.... Funny how many of us choose our lifestyles and others just get theirs and they spend their lives trying to stay just as they are regardless.... I'm going to sign now before I lose this post and that happens sometimes when I least expect it.... Or maybe my subconscience has something to do with stuff like that.... I open and open programs and url's etc until the computer locks on me even clicking too fast and in the wrong places.... The life at a key board... Who would have believed a thing like now back in the 50's.....?

Was thinking that I'd be better off using the public playground basketball courts than the YMCA gym here.... First, I can't wear my heavy work shoes in the "Y's" gym.... Trying to write like writer's write but find it difficult because I'am really not a writer, nor have the writer's skills.... And of what use are they if no one ever reads what you have written...?

I take pictures for something to do mostly... And yesterday I looked up and saw a high flying jet heading towards the nearly full moon and during the daytime.... However I wasn't alone at the Bus stop so I hesitated to take out my camera.... Also the plane looked like it wouldn't pass close to the moon... However as I watched the plane sort of curved ever so slightly towards the moon untill it passed rather close.... Would have made a good picture I thought....

Then I looked back up and another higher flying airplane was heading towards the moon.... Would have been to late to get a good picture but the plane passed closer to the Moon than the 1st one did.... And so that was my two big misses yesterday.... O(*___*)O

Nice day... Took this picture an hour ago outside this building at the pond... Weather is great here... Probably everybody is at the beach today almost....? O(*___*)O

Internet was down at the other library I use so I had to catch another Bus and come here.... But I've nothing important to do anyway so it was just a part of filling my day today.... Saw a link on how to take a one time use digital camera and turn it into a regular camera... Thought that was pretty neat.... Suspect the company that makes the camera might wish to make that impossible....? However it entails sodering which not to many people would bother with.... So no big loss for the manufactures in my opinion....?

Time to leave and get some coffee and whatever I wish to eat before sacktime... Been going heavy on sardine soup with crackers and peanut butter... About 4 days in a row last week and I thought maybe I was smelling fishy ha ha....

Actually the mug I make the soup in was what mostly smelled of fish but I wondered if I also was beginning to reak of sardines ta da O(^___^)O...

O well it's not important... As much as I like the idea of people making a fortune with the stock market, I just don't believe I can ever do what it must take... I really don't like to gamble and I see that that is what it would be for me... But I will not ignore it as it is everywhere and I enjoy being a part of it all even though I am not, "Winner, winner, chicken dinner" like in the movie "21" which was an excellent flick and well worth seeing...

I write in a journal but it is trivial everyday stuff that I do or experience.... Nothing of any value or interest except the action of thinking and writing it....

Messed with a 2d to 3d image webpage but didn't like it that much.... Look at knee info for my bum knee but no easy stuff shows up... I live with it more or less right now.... Can still shoot some basketball hoops for exercise and that's where I might go now...?

Weather is great right now here in Florida... I do not envy the Northern peoples living with the cold all the time... But everyone cannot live in warm climes I'am sure...

So when you get up here in retirement age, the Weather, and food, and exercise, and keeping busy are the items that seem to be most important... At least for Me anyway...

And I do what I can do not what I want to do, mostly.... In truth there isn't that much that I really want to do anyway... Keeping busy or filling my day seems the order of things with Me....

Like wheather I should eat a Lemon Meringue Pie or not...? I once got a whole pie which was on special and ate it all with my coffee.... It was good but I don't have the taste for it that much to do it again... Latest thing is making fish soup with a 50 cent can of sardines and 2 chicken bullion cubes and crackers.... Cheap and healthy I figure ha ha... Tastes good also...

Well I tried it for 25 years and it was a waste of time and a dirty unhealthful habit.... Wish I had never bothered with it.... But I became addicted after my 1st dizzy camel cigarette experience... If I hadn't of sat down I would have fell down.... Just shows what a smoke will do to your brain....

Finally, another alligator showed up at the library pond.... It was an overcast day and I was close to missing the Bus so I just took a couple of pictures from across the water... They move around at night I'am sure.... The drainage ditches along the roadsides and under the streets....

You never know where or when you might step on one ugh ha ha... So be careful and watch the little one's as a hungry gator is only a hungry critter....

My life was a car....
Yes, it began when I turned 16 and was old enough to drive... I got a job in a supermarket and bought a 100 dollar car to get back and forth to school and work.... After working all week, my day off was going for a long drive.... Or a continueing drive as I went everywhere with my car....

I mention this because I believe a lot of others are married to their cars, so to speak.... I continued after I went into the Navy to get a car to drive around... Addiction, is what it was but I knew nothing of those things yet....

I began with cigarettes, then booze, and my 1st addiction - driving.... Today I don't drive anymore.... Mostly because I find it safer, cheaper, and a lot easier to ride the Bus...

Of course I don't expect anyone to give up their cars or anything.... This is to let you know that I was a fool about cars.... I ended up owning 25 cars, trucks, and motorcycles...

And I did little else except work and drive my car around getting gas and repairs etc.... It was easy... I went everywhere... I slept and ate in it... A home on wheels more or less....

But I won't even ride in a car anymore... I've seen so many accidents riding the Buses around... A lot safer on the Bus.... Young people especially think it will never happen to them as they drive down the road drinking coffee and adjusting the radio or talking to someone on their cell phone....

But it happens.... I saw a young guy in a white shirt and tie sitting in His car with the windshield cracked where He probably hit it with His head.... He was just sitting there with blood all over Him.... So it happens....

And it happened to me a few times also as drinking and smoking didn't stop while I was driving....

We probably can't do without cars right now... But in my opinion they are just an addiction and we don't really need them and we would be better off without them....

To drive across town to get gas and coffee at a 7/11 when you can walk to the nearest coffee shop means to hell with cars and lets begin walking and enjoying life better than we do now....

Happy Holidays Everyone....

Hope 2008 is a great year for the Markets and the Traders... I watch the Day Trader Blogs somewhat but mostly for the latest unusual things that they find on the Internet to share.... Still, I think that if they can do it then there's a chance for me, however slight O(^___^)O...

We have all listened to the benefits of exercise... But We try some exercise and then We dismiss it as not that beneficial... One item I noticed, and this is for Seniors, is that after a period of relaxation and rest, We find ourselves taking it too easy....

I would decide to do something and when I got there I would change my mind because I felt tired or it was too much trouble, etc... What I observed after I exercised every day pretty good was that I had more energy and I was better able to get things done... I'd think of doing something and I'd follow thru all the way with no excuses because I was hot to trot so to speak...

Anyway to keep yourself up and about and also to avoid that downhill slide, exercise some every day.... You will feel better and won't hesitate so much in your daily going about... I thought, just look at those fools in there every morning at 5 am on treadmills swimming or other routine exercises... Now I can see it made them feel better all day long and more able to function and get things done effortlessly ta da..... O(*___*)O

December brrrrrrr.... Crazy video but you needed to finish watching it just to see what might happen ha ha.... And We have a couple of choices for President.... Half the population is going to vote for Hillery and so guess who is going to be the next President.....

I would rather see the New York Mayor become the next President.... Mostly because I don't trust the other 2 favorite candidates.... Not that they could or would do us any worse than has already been done.... We are ready for them but they just aren't worth the risk in my opinion....

You know, one of the most awful realizations, is that your country can't and probably won't do what you think they should for you.... An American, yet you just aren't important.... Those Marines and soldiers during the Viet Nam War were on a hilltop, surrounded by a jungel full of the enemy, and the USA brought in new Men and equipment daily and took out the wounded and the body bags.... And this went on for, forever...

And we have it again, the daily death count of Americans fighting in a far off land and the wounded coming home to a country that is grateful but you will live the rest of your life as a disabled vet and not an equal citizen of this good old USA.... The stagering truth is that a ton of the homeless people in the USA are the veterans....

There are many reasons too that Veterans are down and out a lot... Joining the military was a chance for a better life.... But drink and drugs took the toll on many young Men and Women in the military.... If your a disabled Vet then life is sort of whatever you can make of it under the circunstances....

Some do well and other do poorly, like anything else in life.... I'll end this as there isn't anywhere to go with it.... A guy comes back from the War ok and His life continues like efore He went.... And others come back with different attitudes and habits and maybe they're different now.... With a limb missing or a disfigurement, life takes a turn for the worse in most cases....

Drink and/or drugs becomes the answer for some.... A check from the Government helps and hinders you in different situations.... You work with someone and you get 2 checks to their one.... That might be fine in many cases and not so great in others....? And we can go on and on with this.... But you are different now.... You will talk about your life in the military and no one wants to hear it after awhile except another military Man maybe....?

Career military do a lot better than homeless vets as you probably can guess.... Many vets you can't help as they aren't happy with their lives and probably carry a chip on their shoulder that does nothing but grow over the years.... Real or not the chip gets heavy as Hell maybe....? And I suppose watching rich guests from other countries enjoying the USA doesn't help their attitudes much either....? So enough of this Rant....

Well the weather has been great the last few days here in Florida.... Need to say something but I lack something... O(*___*)O

Should be using the paragraph tags instead of the break tags I think...? Downloaded 231 pictures today, mostly traffic and night pictures and blurry ones at that.... There's an Art to taking excellent pictures.... And a moving Bus isn't one of them ta da...?

Got some one a day Vitamin pills with Iron and I popped them 2 at a time every few hours and I think it helped Me get back on my feet so to speak....?

But Portland is cold most of the year.... Might have mentioned this... While playing basketball or exercising with the basketball, which is what I did, in Mirror Lake Park years ago, a young guy did jumping back shots into the basket.... I rather thought that was good then and now....

Here is Chris Rea but I could see the desert and people that live there.... For us that would be a bit too extream of a hardship, I think.... However there are many who travel and live a bare roots type of life and they would find that desert life ok maybe...?

Overcast day, and I rode the Bus around and got a coffee and then rode to McDonalds and got a double cheeseburger with plenty of catsup which I squeezed on it as I ate it... Was delicious so I must have been hungry O(^___^)O....

Put the extra text and pictures in an archive so I can add more stuff ha ha... Was looking thru google images and it's interesting the results you get sometimes.... Nothing much new going on... Yesterday I picked up some green onions and I was so glad I was danceing to the store music in the check out lane.... They are great as I'am still snacking on them....

Keep biting my lip as my teeth are bad and sharp and keep snagging my lip, cutting and leaving me in pain and dispair.... Also my knee is in bad condition... I tried basketball last night as I exercise with the basketball.... Then I went and knelt down on a mat and swung around 10 pound dumbbells for awhile and then tried basketball again... Was able to run and felt a lot better.... So the kneeling really helped Me.... Thought maybe I'd be better off going to church where We kneel a lot in the Catholic church....

Downloaded 50 pictures and some were too exposed so I deleted them.... Should have waited a couple of days or until I had more pictures on the camera... Anyway here is one night picture of construction here in downtown Clearwater, Florida.... Can see the crane all lit up.... Shows I am desperate for things to take pictures of ha ha....

This is a small Heron but He was standing close to me while I ate lunch.... So when I finished eating, I took some pictures... A hawk flew over also... This place is a good location for lunch and picture taking... The other day four coast guard planes flew over while I was sitting there resting... I didn't bother to take the camera out as I've already taken a lot of pictures of the C G planes...

Listening to the Portland, Maine radio station on this page, and they were mentioning Bidderford which I passed thru a lot when I was working up there in Maine... Something about Maine that I liked.... Sort of rural and not over populated like a lot of area's.... The caller on the radio station sounded happy and I thought of the many peoples who listen to radio up there with the cold wind outside helping them to stay in and enjoy what is available inside, the home radio... O(^___^)O
