So I saw LXG, and it was painful. Too painful for me to even recommend for a good laugh. Why do they have to dumb everything down for mass comsumption. I think american audiences are capable of handling a film of moderate intelligence. But they continue to crank out crap like nobodys business. Also watched Gonin and Wasabi last night, I had already seen them both but Jon had not seen Wasabi, and Disco and Matt and not seen Gonin. Beat Takeshi is in Gonin for about 25 minutes or so, and he has some of the more brutal scenes. It's not something you want to watch unless you have a strong stomach and aren't easily offended. Not sure what I'll watch today, Still have A Bande Aparte, Graveyard of Honour, and Rififi. I also have some work to do. I need to write out 9 pages of the shooting script for "Moving Mary".

Going to see XLG tonight, I know I know, it's going to be bad. But I'm expecting that. So maybe I'll be a little surprised. Besides it's free! Free is always better. Julia's Grandfathers wake was today, it wasn't really a wake more like a service.It was very nice, i've been at her rents place with the whole family all day, drinking guiness, sleeping, watching bad TV. XLG will most likely be my only movie today, since I'll most likely be staying here again tonight.

Well, for those of you that know me, you know that I've been unemployed for nearly 4 months. That situation seems to be remedied, at least for now. I'll be back at Blockbuster video after a 4 year hiatus. Free rentals for everyone! or maybe just for me. At any rate, the pay might not be great, but I'll be saving a bit on my rentals :) Looks like no movie watching will take place tonight, I feel like im in withdraw, a whole day without a movie. I just don't feel complete.

Watched Christopher Gans' (Brotherhood of the Wolf) "Crying Freeman" last night. It wasn't what I expected at all, it seemed more like a direct to video american film. Overall I was entertained, for all the wrong reasons, but none the less I was laughing. I wouldn't rush out to buy this film, but it's worth a watch if you need a good laugh. On the menu today is either Kinji Fukusaka's "Graveyard of Honour" or Takashi Miike's "Fudoh: A New Generation" I've seen a lot of Miike films, but somehow this one passed me by.
