The Pubs and Clubs

Just a section showing our favourite drinking places before and after the games and a wee discription of what kind if place it is, its location and info on prices and entry etc etc etc. See, you can learn a lot of useful information on the NCL website!

The famous Hayburn Vaults found in Partick located right beside the Partick subway station. This makes it very handy for scraping a last minute underground train to Ibrox and is always full of Gers fans before and after games. Very well priced and a fair selection of Beers both bottled and on tap. Great atmosphere too and is just a proper pub!

The Sports Cafe is the favoured option for European away games. The NCL always book a table and is known as a neutral venue for all sports. However, when Rangers are playing the place is buzzing with fellow Rangers fans. The Sports Cafe is a very big place with loads of large flat screen televisions scattered on both floors but also has a huge screen on the main dance floor. The ideal option for drink on these nights are pitchers which are not overly priced and there is a good selection of beer. Only annoying thing is the plastic tumblers which all alcohol is served in. Although that is mainly for safety reasons. The Sports Cafe is located on Sauchiehall Street and you cant miss it really due to its bright neon lights outside.

Cube is a nightclub and is frequently visited by members of the NCL, especially on European nights. It is located just off Argyle Street. It is a busy club and always has great drink promos on, especially a thursday. Not too dear for entry either and the music is mixed to suit everyones tastes. Lots of hotties in there too lads!!

The Arches is not the normal run of the mill nightclub. It is far better than that and hosted by the best DJs in the business over the last 10 years or so. A home to all sorts of music but mainly Dance and most nights are jam packed. The best nights to go are definately 'Inside Out' and 'Colours' where you shall see the best DJs on the planet perform in the 10th best club in the world voted by the top DJs of the world. It is definately not the cheapest night out and tickets are nearly £20 when a good DJ is playing, which is why it is not visited frequently, but you will always have an amazing night there. Located under Central Station.

A new pub that was tested on a recent pub crawl led by Morgo and Marty who both found it a very welcoming place. Great choice of beers and there was plenty of totty. Defo one to be tried out again. Located at top end of Sauchiehall Street and is in the upper price range for beers but they are of a higher class.

Weatherspoons is another favourite for the NCL on Euro nights as its cheap and cheerful. Nice open space and you are usually bound to get a seat. It is a neutral venue but the NCL have never had bother there and is always handy at the top end of Sauchiehall Street.

Yates is a pub chain located all over Britain with 3 in Glasgow City Centre. There are two main ones used at Central Station and at the top end of Sauchiehall Street. Yates are a good place for a quiet drink and a wee chat about the game. Not too dear and a fairly good selection of beers.

The Local is another pub located at the top end of Sauchiehall Street. It is not the biggest pub and is not the cheapest but does have pool tables and is always a good atmosphere. A good place to goto before hitting a club.

The Hall is part of a chain of pubs owned by 'Scream' and is a very cheap place for a drink without the pints being watered down. Great selection of beers and has a pool table too. Always a good pub before a club or after the football. Located at the very end of Sauchiehall Street and surrounded by a fair few other pubs but no need to leave if the beer is still cold.

The Garage is a nightclub located at the top end of Sauchiehall Street. It is surrounded by loads of pubs so there is always a place for a pre-club pint. The Garage is a favourite for the Students and the lightweights of Glasgow and can play some crap music. However you can sometimes get a pretty good night and the G2 level is pretty good especially if you go by the name of Dynamite!!! Not too dear for drinks.
