Questions for u Ryan all the
  • are questions plz answer them 1 by 1 in there catigories *(catigories)* either in aim or in mail :) love yeah lol

*1* How to set up..6 players on the floor
which one is right ryan top or bottom?^^

*2*--this is what someone said on a forum?..
Since when does ball rotation indicate a double-contact? A lift would be just as likely as the ball would rotate a good deal after rolling off the players fingertips. For an overhand contact, I watch for simple contact on the ball first, release of the ball second. One problem with rotation is that some coaches teach their setters to use a forward thumb motion when setting the ball. If the ball doesn't come to rest and it's done cleanly, one has rotation but no double and no lift. It's not a wildly popular way to train setters, and some including myself would argue it's moronic, but it is done and it results in a clean yet very rotated ball.
    --Questions--

  • So the ball can rotate?
  • What is a forward thumb?
  • What does he mean by "If the ball doesn't come to rest and it's done cleanly..one has rotation but no double and no lift??
  • Double contact?

*3*Individual Defence?? Feet wide apart, hands in front and palms to the ceiling

  • Hmm...palms to the ceiling i need a visual pic?like this:
    or like this:

Keep body and feet still while waiting to dig and whenever possible during the dig.
  • what is a Dig?
From the "Feet & Hands" position, step out of this position and chase any ball hit away from you. 20' AND 3'
  • What does that mean?...chase the ball away from u..and why would u get in position if ur just gonna get right back out?
Dig the ball 20 feet high and 3 feet off the net so that the setter has time to run under it and the team has time to transition
  • Dig the ball off the net?.
  • Are the setters always in the front?..And the bumpers in the back..or the bumpers and setters can be anywere?

    *4* Blocking!?
SEAL AND PENETRATE-Seal the net with your hands, thumbs pointing to the ceiling a balls width apart, and arms locked

  • How to lock ur arms...i need a visual on this 1..thumbs to the ceiling?.
Whenever possible extend your arms across the net (penetration).
  • Ok so u jump over the net.and block the shot,i get that :)
When moving along the net and when jumping, carry the hands at shoulder height.
  • So hold ur hands up by ur shoulders?

    *5* Hitting
Bow and arrow ready position; Wrist snap for topspin on contact

  • topspin?..
HICCUPS"Onefoot jump" "Ball hit with fist instead of open hand" "Tennis serve" arm action; one arm is swung forward and the other is swung behind" ""Shot-put" arm action"
  • Soo u can hit with ur fist?..when would i use this..?
is the bow and arrow a hitting technique? As you leave the leave the floor to jump, pull the hitting arm back with the elbow and hand at shoulder height or higher. The hand should be open and relaxed, with the plam facing away from the ear. The elbow should swing forward and raise above the head. Then the arm and hand swing over the top as the heal of the hand contacts the ball. This is followed by the palm and fingers, which then snap through the ball. Contact point is slightly in front of and as high as possible above the hitting shoulder

  • Do u have to use ur approach step in every hit?
APPROACH:"Right - Left finish. (for right handers)" "Three step or four step approach (both o.k.)" "Important to both approaches is to make the step preceding the step close a long and explosive one." "Also, important to both approaches is to keep the knees bent for all approach steps"..
  • Long and explosive one?.
  • and if ur gonna take a "three step or four step approch"then why does it say "right-Left finish? So would it be right-left-right FINISH?.

    *6* Passing
Contact the ball on the FOREARMS

  • So Where it says Arm or where it says hand??

Answered question,sorta..Ball should come off the same spot on lower forearms (just above the wrists) each time.
Might need more help with that!RYAN!

*7* Serving..Underhand So this is the serve that u hit with the fist hmm..The player hits underneath the ball with the fist or heel of the hand

  • i do this serve but it makes my forearm hurt and burn/makes it red..is this bad?
Overhand Dont need help yet..i dont think.
