NFL Predictions
Mood:  lucky
Finally the Free Agent Period of the NFL is winding down and the two day event known as the Draft is complete, it is time to look at each team and decide who is the pretender, and who is the contender. A lot of teams improved for the now, and a lot of teams improved for the future. First, lets take a look at the teams who didn't make the playoffs last year but are looking strong this year for a push.
The first team that deserves to be looked at is the Miami Dolphins. Last year they had a 7-9 record and beat playoff teams like Denver and New England. This team is the real deal. They have an extremely well coached team, credited to Nick Saban and his coaching staff, as well as some nasty offensive (and young) weapons. The addition of former 40 touchdown quarterback Daunte Caulpepper will put this team over the edge. Ronnie Brown, 2005's first round pick should have a big year as well as TE Randy McMichael who is one of the best RECEIVING tight ends in the leauge and then throw in WR Chris Chambers who totally dominated the position the last few weeks last season and this team is primed to compete. Not to mention they still have that aggressive defense.
Now on the other end, the NFC, a weaker division than the AFC but still has a handful of elite teams. I believe one team to make the transition from Playoff Contender to Superbowl Contender is the Dallas Cowboys. This team 9-7 last year and they got the biggest name free agent this year. Terrell Owens is going to add so much to this offense. TO is notoriously known for getting open, he is going to beat the double team. Teams will concentrate on him opening up catches to complimentary receiver Terry Glenn as well as TE Jason Witten. The backfield is crowded with talent but third year back Julius Jones who has been great, will have a phenomenal year as well as QB Drew Bledsoe. This defense is young and will get better next year. This team has a huge shot to make it to the Super Bowl, especially with the "weak" NFC.
