Patience

Just read this line on a blog:
'Tennessee Williams wrote that one of the things he lived for in this life was the "broken gate" -- the rare times human beings could break down the social barriers that isolate souls from one another.' Male Librarian Centrefold.
That's lovely. Generous. Interested.
I, however, spent the day mostly wishing any |genericcolleagues| who spoke to me were just two seconds away from dead. Horribly, suddenly, nastily dead. Oops.

I'm currently facing some issues at my work, too. Example:
Please advise your family & friends that the use of company phones must be limited to
urgent business. We only have 4 lines that must be kept available for our client publishers.

This is on a day when the phones, any of the lines, didn't ring for 4 straight hours. @#%$!. I'm getting pissed off with getting pissed on. I'm also getting yelled at for talking to people not on break. Now this woman is a friend of mine, and I don't know whether to be myself and be harsh and rude, or be business paul and try to be nice.

At least you wished them a swift death. I think that some of my colleagues deserve to be beaten to death with a spoon.

To be fair, they were mostly screaming about my incompetence. I'd find it hard not to wish them dead while enduring that.

I once got disciplined for taking my shoes off at work - apparently it didn't look good to visitors in the cafeteria. So I wore hobnailed boots, and they disciplined me for not looking smart enough. I took that opportunity to try to bargain for a raise: "pay me enough to get some fancy shoes".

Unsurprisingly, they fired me.

As for some of my colleagues, I'd like to boil their bones in acid. Slowly.

Slowly boil them? Is that like simmering? Or stewing? Perhpas if it were really really slowly ...... licking their bones in acid?

I'm a bit scared at how enervated I am by this.
