Three- to Seven-Word Long Title Should Catch Attention & Include Good Keywords: Primary Keyword Should Be in First Few Words

 

 

The first sentence should include primary keyword, and the first sentence or two are often used by website owners, article directories, and search engines as a description of or introduction to the article.  The reader should understand what the article is about from the first two sentences and feel she has reason to read further…

Words that grab attention are:

- simple
- easy
- ways to
- how to
- secrets
- tips
- why
- try
- you
- your
- mistakes
- important

People like article titles that:

- promise a way to save money
- promise to help with a problem
- promise to teach them something new
- promise some value
- use the words “how to”
- involve them in a story

Remember, you need to use keywords that people are actually searching for, so they can find your article – also so webmasters will want to use your article on their site.  Try to make the article interesting, entertaining and/or useful, but at the very least include something the average reader won’t know until they read your article.

The article should be 300 to 800 words long or five (5) to ten (10) paragraphs.  Keep the paragraphs short.  Rarely use more than six sentences in one paragraph.  Deliver real value to the reader with concise writing.  Keep the language simple.  Realize that idioms for your language can easily be lost on readers of a native tongue.

Use Subheadings if Appropriate With the PRIMARY KEYWORD in at Least One

Use the primary keyword two (2) to six (6) more times in the article, and have other keywords scattered throughout the article two (2) to ten (10) times.  You don’t even have to think about the other keywords too much, because they will occur naturally as you write.  Do not include blatant sales pitches, and links in the article body are especially bad form for articles posted in article directories.

Use the primary keyword in the last paragraph, and be sure to leave the reader wanting more information.  Prep them for the author’s resource box, so they will be ready to click through to your site.
