2007 was a record-breaking year for our favourite pugilist Joe Calzaghe, as he became the first undisputed super middleweight champion of the world after successfully defending his WBO title 21 times and gaining IBF, WBA and WBC titles. Both of his fights took place only a couple of miles from Prawn Cufflinks HQ, at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. He's now the longest reigning title holder in any weight class in boxing, with over ten years as WBO super middleweight champ, and at the end of 2007 he became the BBC's and BBC Wales' Sports Personality Of The Year, the latter for the second time in a row. As if that wasn't enough, he was the winner of our 2007 Sporting Event Of The Year (for his bout against Peter Manfredo Jr) and was also nominated in our Man Of The Year category.
