..Opinion of the week..

Kobe Bryan is one of the premier athletes of our time. His art is one of a kind on the basketball court. For this, we should praise him for his athletic ability. But for some reason, in light of his recent rape charge, the media has started to herald him in some kind of super human form. During the post game of Game 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday May 27th, the analysts commented on the greatness of The Kobe Bryant. In a general summary, they were in awe with his 'ability to go through the rigors of court and still have the ability to play at a top notch level.' He plays basketball for a living, makes like 15 million a year to play a game anyone who truely loves basketball would play for minimal money. Now it is remarkable to some degree, the fact is you can not watch a Laker game, against the top team in the Western conference mind you, and not go more than one two breaks in action before the analysts start barking about how brave/courageous/fill in some term you would use for a real hero Kobe Bryant is. They should be talking about the MVP Kevin Garnett. In my opinion, I think it is pathetic that the whole trial is brought up every Kobe mention. By doing this, I feel the media is trying to take away from the fact that Kobe Bryant did make a mistake that many people unfortunately have made, be it adultery or at worst rape. This is just my personal opinion of the matter. For another person's opinion, click here

..Further annoyance..

“Kobe? Never has someone played at such a high level and looked so profoundly tormented, so singlemindedly joyless, so utterly disconnected from his teammates. Maybe there isn't any other way. It's just been awkward. That's the only word to describe it. There was a jarring scene during the postgame of Game 4, when the cameras caught Kobe walking in the runway towards the locker room. He spotted his wife and baby, raised his arms happily and skipped over to them, kissing them both as the security guards and hangers-on pretended not to watch. Everyone was probably thinking the same thing: Hi, honey, how was your rape trial today? Just plain awkward. Poor Ernie Johnson couldn't throw it to the break fast enough.” -This article was borrowed from ESPN.com

Book Review

When I was searching my apartment for our broom and mop, I ran into Bill O'Reilly's latest book, entitled "Who's Looking Out For You?" I figured what the hell, I love the guys show. So I will read it. Well, needless to say, I can not put it down. Bill O'Reilly's no nonsense approach to dealing with issues is the best thing that could happen to this country. Despite threats, he keeps speaking about why Big Brother is more like a Big Bully by not looking out for us and being dead honest. For any one who is looking for an informative book, I suggest you pick this one up for a try.
