Emmy and Aunt Cyd's Visit

Emmy and Aunt Cyd flew all the way to Orlando from Houston to help me celebrate my first birthday. We had a great time together!

Two Parties for the "Big One"

Lucky me ~ I got to have two parties! One on my real birthday with all my playgroup friends and one a few days earlier with my Emmy and Aunt Cyd. We had the first party at Emmy's Lake Oasis timeshare. It was a really nice place with a view of the pool (I got to swim in it) and a pretty lake. Below are some pictures from that fun party.

Party Hats

We had all the trimmings ~ cake, presents, party hats, horns, and whistles. Here I am trying to take off my hat. Later I discovered that party hats are lots of fun to play with and to chew on!

I'm This Many

My parents were so proud of the fact that when someone asked me how old I was, I would hold up "one" finger. Here I'm so excited that I held up two fingers (so did Mommy)!

Make a Wish

Luckily it doesn't take a whole lot of breath (and germs) to blow out just one candle! I wish that I will always have as wonderful a birthday as this one. Happy Birthday to me!

First Taste of Cake

Yummy ~ my very first taste of cake! It was carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. (Sounds like my family is trying to trick me with a "healthy" cake. Good thing I love carrots!) We had really cute Sesame Street napkins to wipe off all the goo from my face and hands.

Lots of Pretty Birthday Cards

Reading Cards With Daddy

I got so many cute birthday cards. Aunt Cyd gave me one with my favorite Sesame Street characters. She addressed it to "The Shreek" because she says I'm always shreeking. Emmy gave me a card with a cute baby bunny sleeping that she said reminded her of when she came to take care of me as a newborn baby.

Thanks Uncle Bob!

Here we are looking at my card from my Great Uncle Bob ~ he sure is "great"! I haven't met him yet but I have heard lots of wonderful things about him. He gave me a generous check that I will put in my Savings Account.

Wonderful Presents

I got lots of really great gifts for my first birthday. Mommy and Daddy gave me a set of tiny stuffed Teletubbies. I like Po because she is the baby and I can throw her the farthest!

Emmy gave me money for my savings account and a cute Baby Mickey that plays a lullaby. I like to give Baby Mickey rides in my push toy walker.

Aunt Cyd gave me a remote key chain that makes sounds and has keys to jingle jangle. I love it, but my parents won't let me play with it in the car any more. I nearly gave my Daddy a heart attack by pressing the horn button just as he crossed an intersection!

Auntie Barb gave me a Savings Bond ~ some day I'm going to be really rich thanks to everyone's generosity! She also sent me some Polaroid film to make stickers out of my photos.

Uncle Jeff and Aunt Christy gave me a really good book of bedtime stories. My favorite story is called "Dad, I Can't Sleep!" They also gave me a Veggie Tales video tape. I just watched it the other day and it really kept my attention for a long time. I really liked the story of Madame Blueberry and her lesson in thankfulness. I realized that I have so much to be thankful for, especially my wonderful family and friends!
