| What
causes rape?
The way people think is the cause of rape.
Almost every single day we find cases in the
newspapers of women being viciously raped. A police
statistic stated that the amount of rape cases
in a day has increased since the year 1993 and
1998. In 1993, the rape cases in a day were only
2.4 whereas in 1998, the number of rape cases
flew up to 4.1 cases in a day. It is also said
that most rape cases are not reported to the police.
People who study rape in detail have come to name
it the "rape culture" because there
are too many rape cases going on out there. Rape
happens because many people think of women lowly.
Women are thought as the weaker sex compared to
the men. Ever since children were young, parents
dressed the girls up in pink and the boys in blue.
It has come to a point where females are supposed
to act gentle whereas the males are supposed to
act macho. As a result, guys usually act roughly,
talk loudly and are aggressive. They think that
they need to be in control so that they will be
considered macho. Therefore sometimes rape happens
because these men are so used to getting what
they want by using the force of violence.
