Save me from drowning in the sea
Beat me up on the beach

What a lovely holiday
There's nothing funny left to say

This sombre song would drain the sun
But it won't shine until it's sung

No water running in the stream
The saddest place we've ever been

Everything I touched was golden
Everything I loved got broken
On the road to Mandalay
Every mistake I've ever made
Has been rehashed and then replayed
As I got lost along the way

There's nothing left for you to give
The truth is all that you're left with
Twenty paces then at dawn
We will die and be reborn

I like to sleep beneath the trees
Have the universe at one with me
Look down the barrel of a gun
And feel the Moon replace the Sun

Everything we've ever stolen
Has been lost returned or broken
No more dragons left to slay
Every mistake I've ever made
Has been rehashed and then replayed
As I got lost along the way

Save me from drowning in the sea
Beat me up on the beach
What a lovely holiday
There's nothing funny left to say.

Stress bars
did u know that black bars can appear on a luohan's body when it is stressed? woah..that is exactly what is happening to my lh right now. It is stressed cos a new kid on the block has arrived! my father adopted another pinkish lh with a slight lump on its forehead. now they are living side by side separated by a thin glass divider. And the old fella is furious! it looks like its spoiling for a fight. dunno what ll happen if one of them manage to knock the divider down *shudder.
yeah and stress bars are appearing on the old fella's body. hmmm...i wonder if only females get stress bars. if so many then my old guy is female and the new kid is male. a funny thought...if human beans get black bars all over their body when they are stressed, that wld be pretty freaky ha *looks down at arms.

All the news that's fit to print
Despite my timely rescue the other day, the tragic incident seemed vehement in repeating itself. I mourn for poor beautiful little red-tailed guppy.

(31 October 2003, Singapore) A 2-mth old male red-tailed guppy was found crushed on the concrete below a fish community-housing block at 12 pm today. Police speculated that the victim either died of asphyxiation or fatal injuries ?caused by a very big and heavy descending object?.
According to an eyewitness, the victim leapt out of the water during a gang fight over remnants of food pellets left by the callous owner. Block resident Ms. Molly said: ?I saw a few of them fighting and then one of them just leapt out of the water and onto the concrete below. I?m not sure if he was still alive when our owner?s careless foot descended upon him.?
When Agence Fish Press contacted the owner Mdm Neo, alleged to have carelessly stepped on the victim and reduced it to a pulp, she declined to comment further, saying that it was ?just a freak accident that was unforeseeable?. Her daughter Ms Lu claimed to have heard strange noises coming from the block prior to the accident.

--Agence Fish Press

hahaha after I finished this piece and read it once, I wanted to laugh out loud. Sigh, I shld be studying instead of doing these stupid article.

did i post this b4? A Chance of Sunshine is my fav book, other than The Little Prince

Love at First Sight
by Wislawa Szymborska - 1993

They're both convinced
that a sudden passion joined them.
Such certainty is beautiful,
but uncertainty is more beautiful still.

Since they'd never met before, they're sure
that there'd been nothing between them.
But what's the word from the streets, staircases, hallways -
perhaps they've passed by each other a million times?

I want to ask them
if they don't remember -
a moment face to face
in some revolving door?
perhaps a "sorry" muttered in a crowd?
a curt "wrong number" caught in the receiver?
but I know the answer.
No, they don't remember.

They'd be amazed to hear
that Chance has been toying with them
now for years.

Not quite ready yet
to become their Destiny,
it pushed them close, drove them apart,
it barred their path,
stifling a laugh,
and then leaped aside.

There were signs and signals,
even if they couldn't read them yet.
Perhaps three years ago
or just last Tuesday
a certain leaf fluttered
from one shoulder to another?
Something was dropped and then picked up.
Who knows, maybe the ball that vanished
into childhood's thicket?

There were doorknobs and doorbells
where one touch had covered another
beforehand.
Suitcases checked and standing side by side.
One night, perhaps, the same dream,
grown hazy by morning.

Every beginning
is only a sequel, after all,
and the book of events
is always open halfway through.

3 Chances
Was browsing through Darren?s (my photojourn instructor) pictures on his website. While reading the introduction for one series of photos, when I chanced upon this passage: ?something jarring and totally unexpected occurred in my life. Lets just say that a very personal sense of security that I'd always taken for granted was very suddenly taken away from me. I felt hurt, lost and displaced.? It sounded so familiar, like how I was feeling for quite some time but cldn?t find the words to express it? Am I supposed to feel reassured because I realize I am not alone in this or am I supposed to feel despair? Perhaps beneath the everyday normal exterior, most of us are feeling lost for some reason or another.

The shops I passed by today were all decorated with Halloween stuff. The coming of Halloween always reminds me of a rather memorable discovery. In 2001, I went for this chalet with my university friends at Sentosa. It was during Halloween at that time and the going-ons in a nearby chalet aroused our curiosity. The interior was full of lighted tealights and people in funny costumes kept walking around. I dismissed it as a Halloween party and thought nothing more of it.
Two years later?
Through Soo Yam, I got to know Morgan on a trip to Thailand. At that time we were totally unaware that we might have crossed each other?s paths before. During one of our conversations, I dun remember why we started talking about Halloween and chalets but b4 I knew it, our conversation quickly revealed the surprising fact that Morgan was in fact one of the people at that very chalet. Hmmm?I might have seen him in his costume and not remember it at all. And two years down the road, we met and got to know each other. It makes me wonder if there are predestined moments where you ?meet? someone.
Before that, you might brush past them countless times but you ll not see the person. And maybe after that when two people are destined never to meet again, their paths might never cross again.

How many of those people that I have left behind, that I will see them again somewhere down the road? Or will they never cross my paths again? Life is very strange. Just when I was about to accept that I will never see him again, he appears at the most unlikely time and place. Three long years, we have never been in contact. And then the sudden email. I hope I can explain it away as him probably sending the wrong email to the wrong person by mistake, I really dunno what was his purpose. Since he is already happily together with someone, why is he still trying to attract my attention? Why do I get the feeling that he is still trying to find me? I am honestly puzzled. Maybe he wasn?t trying to do what I thought he was trying to do. Maybe it?s just another one of those mean jokes that Heaven plays on me :{ I?m used to mean jokes. I made a mean wish the other day and it got granted. This is a twisted world ha. I never get well-meaning wishes granted. Voila I made a little mean wish the other day and it came true, not in a really bad way that I felt guilty but it still came true. Okie I shld be careful what I wish for :P

Enfant Terrible

Today on the MRT, there was this cute little baby in a pram. Now, I always like to observe little babies in prams. Not sure if anyone else has noticed it before, but babies like to stick at least one of their legs up on the rail/bar (I dunno what you call that) thingie when they are seated in a pram. I wonder why, but I reckon that it~{!/~}s the same reason why some of us like to prop our legs on a footstool or something when we are seated. Interesting phenomenon. Next time you see a baby in a pram, look to see if the legs are up or down. Ha, if I had a series of pictures on this, it~{!/~}ll be pretty funny (Hmmm~{!-~}idea)
Aniwei, while I was totally immersed in the cutesy little antics of the baby, this horrible thing happened. A little Malay girl two seats away was holding this balloon from a rather ubiquitous fastfood restaurant (no prizes for guessing which). And all of a sudden, this other little girl (abt 3-4 yrs old) rushed up to her and burst her balloon. Everyone thought it was accidental and the enfant terrible had fell fwd and thus burst the balloon. The horrifying thing was, immediately after, she tried vehemently to kick the Malay girl (she made repeated attempts to kick her) and was barely held back by her BLUR and SLOW mother. People who saw it were stunned. How could a small girl of barely schooling age be so violent! It was really quite shocking to see a child do something almost with vehemence. *Shudder
Well, on hindsight, I really felt that there must be something wrong with the environment the child grew up in (not trying to be moralistic, just my own personal reasoning). No normal child would turn out like that. It~{!/~}s normal for children to quarrel and fight but to maliciously destroy a stranger~{!/~}s property and even try to hurt her? If she were an adult, she would probably have been slapped with an assault charge. But okay, even if she were a child, maybe she din know what she was doing, still it is very shocking and wldn~{!/~}t have happened under normal circumstances. I dunno what to say anymore, it just gives me the creeps. One moment I was thinking children are kinda cute and this little monster promptly shattered my wondrous illusions.
