Mayor Pascal receives "Consumer of the Year" Award from the
Pennsylvania Association of Weights and Measures
Consumer Advocate Mary Bach, Mayor Pascal, and PAWM Executive Director Dean Ely
Mayor Pascal received the "Mary Bach Consumer of the Year Award" from the Pennsylvania Association of Weights and Measures (PAWM) at the organization's annual convention recently in Lancaster.
Pascal received the award for bringing to light the fact that no parking meter in Pennsylvania had been certified as accurate, despite a 1996 state law requiring certification.
As a result, nearly every city and borough in Pennsylvania has now acted to have their parking meters certified for accuracy.
