We have planned a first night out. Wednesday Feb 22 8pm Legends Bar & Grill 84th & Holdrege Lincoln Upstairs... I reserved the upstairs at Legends, it's no cost, a couple of recliners and tables... Mike from Ralston is coming down and Steve from Lincoln, along with myself will be there. If anyone else is interested, let me know via email or post a comment below. We can meet and go over some ideas for helping this group grow.

KC Trip
Looks like Mike can't make KC trip. He is up for a part-time post at the United Church of Christ in Ralston as Youth Minister. If this isn't right Mike, let me know. He needs to work that weekend. So there's an opening if anyone is interested.

The KC at-home dad group is planning a guys night out for March 4. They are planning on touring the Boulevard Beer brewery and dinner after. I will be attending and Mike possibly. We would leave Saturday morning and get a hotel for a return Sunday morning. Let me know through email or post comments if you're interested.

Welcome
LinOma At-Home Dads is a new group for the Lincoln/Omaha/Eastern Nebraska area. We would like to create a group of dads who are full-time at-home, work part-time, or work second/third shift and are home with kids during the day. We hope to provide communication, playgroups, support, and fun to a growing segment of the population.

I am Phil Andrew and will serve as coordinator of this site and group for the time being. I have been a stay at home dad since Jan 1, 2000 and have enjoyed every minute. I have three children: Mary, Thomas, and TJ. I am married to Anne, who works in Milllard for a property management company. I have lived in Lincoln since 1989.

My partner in starting this group is Mike Njus from Ralston. He has been staying at home for over 3 years, with a brief return to Conagra in 2005. He is back at-home with his two children: Benjamin and Abby.

We have been meeting since summer '04. Our favorite spots are: Lincoln Childrens Museum and Zoo, Omaha Childrens Museum and Zoo. We usually get together during pre-school breaks.

I have attended the last three at-home dad conventions in Chicago. Mike attended in '04. We feel that the Eastern Nebraska region is ready for an organized at-home dad group to flourish.
