Mistress is still finished. I'm in the middle of rewrites right now and I've done chapters 1-6. That is the new chapters 1-6. I took a bunch of stuff out a while back because I wasn't sure if it moved the story along and well to my chagrin, I think it would really help the story to have those added details in there.
I've been trying to focus much more on describing emotions than describing what's going on in a scene. Something has just been missing with this character and a strong emotional pull was it. Now that I'm doing that, my rewrites are coming along much more smoothly. :-)
