Rules:

If you are interested in taking care of Neopets that will be put up for adoption, there are certain rules you must follow.

1. You must first neomail me (Pointandlaughhhh) and give me the name of the Neopet that will be put up for adoption. This is crucial, because if you don't tell me I can't put your Neopet on the adoption page.

2. Never, ever, ever request or accept neopoints for the Neopet you are fostering. This is against Neopets rules, and you will be reported for doing this.

3. Make sure to check out and keep track of the member you let adopt your pet. This can be as simple as typing their username in a word processor and saving it. You must do this because . . . and saving it. You must do this because . . .

*Each JIG member may only adopt one Neopet per month.
*JIG members may only adopt a Neopet if they have been a member for at least two weeks.
*JIG members may only adopt a Neopet if their account is at least one month old.

4. You have the right to deny any requests for the Neopet you are fostering.

Things to keep in mind:

1. Fostering a Neopet means taking great care of them until you are ready to release it to a new owner. Taking care of a Neopet means feeding them, keeping them happy, painting them, raising stats, ect. A great way to raise your Neopet's stats and paint them is to take it to the Lab Ray. You can also raise their stats by taking them to Coltzan's Shrine. If you have access to the Lab Ray, but aren't currently using it every day, please consider fostering a Neopet. There is no limit on the number of Neopets you can foster.

2. You should only get Neopets to foster from the Neopian Pound. Creating a new Neopet may keep a pound Neopet from receiving a good home.

3. You won't receive any reward for fostering except the joy of helping less fortunate Neopets and Neopians.

4. When you foster a Neopet, you are in complete control. You decide when to release the Neopet, decide who is most capable of taking care of the Neopet, how high you want their stats to be, and what color and species you want them to be. The rules listed above are the only ones you have to follow.

5. You are the only one who will receive Neomails requesting to adopt your Neopet. You'll need to make sure they understand how to get the Neopet.

6. Once your Neopet is ready to be adopted, neomail me (pointandlaughhhh) so I can put it on the guild website. If you are using the Lab Ray on your Neopet, you may also want to post it on the guild message board. This is because the Lab Ray may change the species or color of your Neopet. And make sure you neomail me once your Neopet has been adopted, so that I can take them off the guild website.

Instructions for Releasing your Neopet

(The following is only a guideline. Feel free to use your own techniques for releasing a Neopet.)

1. Once you have decided on the JIG member you wish to release your Neoopet to, contact them and set up a date that you will both be online.

2. On the day of the releasing, neomail the JIG member with these instructions -
I am ready to release the Neopet into the pound. Make sure you take some Neopoints with you! Type or copy and paste this URL into your address bar -
http://www.neopets.com/process_adopt.phtml?pet_name=NEOPETSNAMEHERE Once you go to that address, keep refreshing until you get your Neopet. Send me a neomail when you are ready and I'll release the Neopet in 30 seconds.

3. If they adopt the Neopet, make sure to record their Username. That way if they request another Neopet before the one month limit is over, you will know.
