Kory--So sad to hear that you've left this earth. I cherished the time we spent in high school. Cheating in physics, pissing off my sister (and niel :P), and just chilling. You were freaking awesome! I regret that I didn't get to know you better, heck, at least talk to you on myspace every once and a while. I hope we'll meet again one day. So long Kor!

Out of Egypt(11/5/06)
I started one of those 'Read the Bible in a Year' things on Blue Letter Bible. It's really cool because it keeps you accountable by reminding you what you need to read in order to stay on schedule, and it keeps track of the exact percentage of the Bible that you've read so far.

Anyway, I'm reading the old and new testaments together, so today's passages were Genesis 7-9 and Mathew 3.

I've heard the story of Noah like 5 million times, but the thing I love about the Bible is if you're open to listening, you can learn something new every time you read a scripture. What really spoke to me today is the faith of Noah. It never speaks of Noah doubting God, God spoke to him, and Noah did what God told him without question. He never said "What if people think I'm crazy?" He took God's word for what it was and did His will. I've decided this is where I want to be in my Faith. To be so open to God's will and so in tune to his voice that I would do whatever He says without questioning Him.

I love that song "Unforgetful" You' by Jars of Clay. "I never minded calling you a king, if that meant that I could count on you to give me everything...You never minded calling me a child, well I guess that's how I acted all the while..." It's funny how we argue with God when he's asking us to do something, and we go about doing things our way, then we get right down on our knees whenever we want something.

Part of yesterday's passage was Mathew 3 where we see the tree wise men seeking Jesus, and then after they find him, due to a command from God, they leave without telling king Herod of Jesus’ whereabouts. God commands Joseph to take Mary and Jesus and flee to Egypt until He calls Jesus according the prophecy "Out of Egypt I have called my son."

This is really where I feel like I stand right now. Jesus couldn't start his ministry until he listened to God and came out of hiding in Egypt, but before that happened, King Herod had to die because all he wanted to do was seek out this Jesus and kill him. That thing in my life that only wants to destroy is, in Jesus' name, dead! It's time for me to come out of this, somewhat stagnant place in my life, and really live for God.

I've decided to make a covenant with God, the sign of which will be no dating for a year. I want to grow closer to Him, learn to live in the spirit, and alow Him to make me the man he wants me to be.

Election Exposé(10/31/06)
I can't vote this time around because I'm in Tennessee, but even if I wasn't I don't think I'd vote anyway. It's not that I'm apathetic, or uninformed. I know where I stand on all of the current issues in the government. It's really because I'm fed up with politicians. The more I think about it, the more politics seem like just a big rat-race and who can come up with the most believable pile of bull-plop. I see signs on the street and ads on TV that are sponsored by a candidate, but instead of expressing their views and why you, the voter, should elect them, they are all smear campaigns against their opponent.

I look at one of these politicians and I think, you know, I'm the one that's voting, and I know that just from the inherent fact that you're a politician, you shouldn't be in any kind of office, it's up to you to convince me why I should vote for you, not why I shouldn't vote for your opponent. They Spend all of their time attacking their opponents and 'defending' themselves from attacks, not with good facts about themselves, but with more counter-attacks.

It's like these two guys come up to me and one of them says 'Hi, I'm Joe, did you know that Bob here did all of these atrocious things? Vote for me.' And then Bob opens up and says 'Well did you know that Joe here did all of these heinous acts? Vote for me.' And I say to both of them, Gentlemen, you are children and should not be in politics, gooday'.

Two Blogs in Two Days, Sombody Stop Me!(10/27/06)
Things at the studio are going good. The other day we got bored and carved pumpkins. Strong Bad was my idea, it pretty much rocked everyone's face off. Isn't he so much more terrifying in Pumpkin form? For those of you who are not familiar with this pumpkin-esque likeness, go educate yourself!

Anyway, It's been raining constantly since my last blog...for native Arizonan's that spells depression. The sun did acctually come out for a few minutes today and I was able to go out and soak it up, and even those few fleeting moments of sunshine were enough to really life my mood. Well ima 'bout to watch a movie-film on the telemavision, Adios! (which is mexican for cya! (which is internet for bye!)

Hello, Interweb.(10/26/06)
Hey everybody! It's been about a month since I've posted a blog as I've been rather busy...and wet. Early this month I finished school at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences and prepared to move to Nasville Tennesee. Moving out here has taught me the meaning of rain. Growing up in Arizona I've always heard stories of rain, told by weary travelers from distant lands who were always so excited to experience the warm, sunny weather that I've always known. Now it's my turn. It rained the entire way from New Mexico to Nashville. It then continued to rain the entire night, finally clearning up around mid-day. Since then it has rained persistantly about every other day.

Now, being a desert rat from Arizona, this is quite a new and interesting experience. In Arizona we get about six inches of rain...for the whole year! If it rained in Arizona as much as it does here people would die. There would be floods of biblical porportions and disaster and destruction would abound.

So anyway, it's all new and interesting and I'm getting used to it, but I definately miss my Arizona blue skys and sunlight. In other news, I've decide to do away with the 'Top Friends' Area of my page. Everyone on my friend list is speacial to me. Albiet I do have certian people that are definatley closer than others, I've seen how the "Top Friends" list has been used by the myspace community and I do not want those kinds of misconceptions occuring on my page. Cheerio!
